Country View RV Park About
Howdy, Texas travelers! Are you on the hunt for a straightforward RV park that offers a genuine taste of the Texas countryside, a place to set up camp without the frills of a resort? Or perhaps you're simply passing through and need a convenient spot for the night? Let's take a look at **Country View RV Park** in Nixon, Texas. We understand that finding the right RV park is about aligning with your travel style and needs, and this article aims to give you a detailed, local's perspective on what to expect.
Country View RV Park, as described by some visitors, presents itself as an "out-in-the-country gem of an RV park." Its primary appeal lies in its rural setting, offering a quiet escape from more congested areas. While some reviews offer conflicting viewpoints regarding its current appearance and amenities, a key positive highlight points to "strong water pressure," which can be a true blessing for RVers, especially during the Texas heat. It appears to be a park that prioritizes basic, essential services for RVers looking for a no-frills, practical place to stay in the countryside. Potential visitors should weigh all available information to determine if it aligns with their expectations for a tranquil, rural RV experience.
Country View RV Park is located at **1010 Co Rd 173, Nixon, TX 78140, USA**. For Texans, this address places it in the rural expanse of Gonzales County, offering a genuine "out-in-the-country" feel. Nixon is a small town, embodying the quiet charm of South Central Texas, a stark contrast to the busy pace of larger metropolitan areas.
The park's location on Co Rd 173 suggests it's situated away from major highways, which typically contributes to a more secluded and peaceful environment. While this can mean a less direct route from main thoroughfares, it often enhances the rural ambiance. Generally, county roads in Texas are navigable for RVs, but prospective visitors might consider checking recent road conditions if driving a particularly large rig. Despite its rural setting, Nixon offers basic town amenities such as local stores, gas stations, and a few dining options for your immediate needs. For more extensive shopping or services, larger towns like Seguin or Gonzales are a reasonable drive away. This allows guests at Country View RV Park to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while still having access to necessary supplies and conveniences. Its location also offers opportunities to explore the natural landscapes of the region, perfect for those who enjoy the quieter side of Texas.
Based on available reviews, Country View RV Park appears to focus on providing fundamental services for RVers, with a notable highlight.
- **Water Hookups with Strong Pressure**: A significant positive mentioned by a customer is the "strong water pressure," which is a highly valued amenity for RVers, especially in Texas where heat can make a good shower or water flow essential. It suggests reliable water connections at the sites.
- **Electrical Hookups**: It is customary for RV parks to offer electrical hookups at each site, allowing guests to power their RVs. While not explicitly detailed, this is a standard expectation for an RV park. Visitors should confirm the available amperage (e.g., 30 amp, 50 amp) to ensure it meets their RV's requirements.
- **Sewer Hookups**: Full hookup sites typically include sewer connections for convenient waste disposal. Prospective guests should verify if this is available at all sites or if a dump station is provided.
- **Basic Site Provisions**: As an RV park, it would offer designated sites for parking RVs, likely on gravel or dirt as indicated by one review.
It is important for potential visitors to note that one review specifically states the park "has no wifi or any other amenities" and describes it as "dark and Baron," suggesting a very basic offering focused solely on essential hookups. Visitors prioritizing amenities like Wi-Fi, paved sites, or recreational facilities should verify these directly with the park.
Country View RV Park offers a few key features that stand out, primarily appealing to those seeking a simple, rural camping experience.
- **"Strong Water Pressure"**: As highlighted by a positive review, this is a distinct and valuable feature, particularly in a region like Texas where high water pressure for showers and daily use can greatly enhance comfort.
- **"Out-in-the-Country Gem"**: This phrase captures the park's rural charm and peaceful setting, making it ideal for those looking to escape urban noise and enjoy a tranquil environment.
- **Friendly Interaction (with Cindy)**: One review specifically mentions "Cindy was a pleasure to work with. Thank you!" This indicates positive guest service interactions with at least one member of the staff, which can significantly contribute to a comfortable stay.
- **Basic and Functional**: For RVers who prefer a straightforward place to park without many frills, this park's simplicity might be seen as a highlight, offering exactly what's needed for a stopover or a quiet, long-term base.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge the conflicting review that describes the park as "a run down dirt and gravel place," "dark and Baron," and lacking Wi-Fi or "any other amenities." This suggests that the visual appearance and available facilities might be very basic and that previous online images may not accurately reflect the current state. Additionally, the same review mentions a past incident (a shooting years back) and expresses concern about the current owner, advising "renter beware." Prospective guests should consider these contrasting perspectives carefully.
Specific promotions or special offers for Country View RV Park are not publicly detailed in the provided information. Given its focus on a basic, rural experience, it's common for such parks to offer straightforward pricing models.
It is highly recommended for prospective guests to contact the park directly to inquire about their current rates, which may include:
- **Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Rates**: RV parks often offer tiered pricing, with more economical rates for longer stays. Given that some RVers might seek long-term spots in a rural setting, monthly rates would be a likely offering.
- **Inclusions**: Confirm what utilities (water, electricity, sewer) are included in the site fees.
A direct phone call to Country View RV Park at **(830) 534-6995** is the best way to get the most accurate and up-to-date information on pricing, availability, and to address any questions you may have about the park's current condition and amenities, given the conflicting reviews.

For Texans, Country View RV Park in Nixon offers a particular type of RV experience that might appeal to those seeking a very basic, "out-in-the-country" escape. Its location provides a true rural feel, away from the noise and crowds of more developed areas. For RVers who prioritize essential services like "strong water pressure" and a quiet setting over extensive amenities, this park could be a functional stop.
However, prospective visitors, especially those bringing family, must carefully consider the conflicting customer reviews. While one highlights a "cute" country gem with strong water pressure and pleasant staff interaction (Cindy), another describes it as "run down dirt and gravel," lacking amenities like Wi-Fi, and raises serious concerns about safety and the owner's demeanor, even referencing a past legal incident. For locals considering this park, it is absolutely crucial to manage expectations based on the most critical feedback, perhaps by calling ahead to ask very specific questions about the current condition, available amenities, and management style. This park might be suitable for independent, self-sufficient RVers who are primarily looking for a simple place to park in a rural setting and are comfortable with a very basic environment, but it's vital to conduct thorough due diligence before committing to a stay.
Customer Reviews
I don’t know where they got these pictures but they aren’t what this trailer park looks like at all …it’s now a run down dirt and gravel place and nothing more it has no wifi or any other amenities, it’s dark and Baron and in doing some research. I have uncovered the fact that a seven-year-old boy shot and killed an adult here years back and was finally brought to justice and sent to prison. Not exactly the place to bring your family nor do you want to run into the current owner she kind of reminds me of the lady in the woods from Hansel and Gretel renter beware here keep your money in ur pocket and keep ur kids safe
Cindy was a pleasure to work with. This is a cute, out in the country gem of an rv park. Water pressure is strong and that’s a true blessing in the Texas heat! Thank you !
