Michigan is known for its incredible natural beauty, from the shores of the Great Lakes to its lush forests. For those looking to immerse themselves in the outdoors without fully roughing it, or for RV enthusiasts seeking a comfortable home base, the concept of a "glamping and RV resort" offers an appealing solution. These unique destinations combine the tranquility of camping with the comforts and amenities of a resort, providing a distinct experience for locals and visitors alike. If you're a Michigan resident wondering where to go for your next outdoor adventure, let's explore a specific option that might just be what you're looking for.
One such destination that aims to cater to both glamping aficionados and RV travelers is Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort. Situated in the charming city of Port Huron, this resort positions itself as a convenient escape for those looking to enjoy the Michigan outdoors with a touch of luxury or the convenience of a dedicated RV spot. Understanding what a glamping and RV resort offers can help you decide if it’s the right fit for your next weekend getaway or longer vacation.
Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort is located at 2301 Water St, Port Huron, MI 48060, USA. Port Huron itself is a well-known city in Michigan, situated at the southern end of Lake Huron and the St. Clair River, which separates Michigan from Ontario, Canada. Its proximity to major roadways makes it a relatively accessible destination for many residents across Southeastern Michigan, including those from the Detroit metropolitan area. The resort’s address places it within reach of local attractions, while also providing a base for exploring the broader Blue Water Area.
However, it is important for prospective guests to be aware of the resort's immediate surroundings. Public information, including reviews, indicates that the campground is situated adjacent to a highway, specifically close to I-94, which is a major route to Canada. This proximity means that guests may experience consistent traffic noise from cars, semi-trucks, rumble strips, and engine braking, particularly during the day and night. For those seeking a truly secluded or silent natural environment, this aspect of the location is a significant consideration. If ambient noise from a highway is a concern for your camping experience, it is advisable to factor this into your decision-making process.
While specific, comprehensive details on all services are best obtained directly from the resort, a glamping and RV resort typically aims to provide more than just a patch of grass. Based on the name and common offerings in such establishments, one can generally expect a range of services designed to enhance the camping experience. It's important to verify the availability and operational status of all services directly with the resort, as details can change.
Resorts often boast various features designed to entertain and accommodate guests. When considering a stay at Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort, understanding the potential highlights is key to managing expectations. Again, direct confirmation with the resort regarding the current status and availability of all features is highly recommended.
Promotions and special offers can often make a stay more appealing. However, based on customer feedback, it's paramount to exercise caution and thoroughly clarify any advertised discounts or rates with Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort before booking. One customer review highlighted a significant issue regarding a discounted rate for booking multiple nights. The customer experienced a price increase shortly before their trip, and there was a dispute over whether the discount applied to RV sites versus glamping accommodations. This suggests that the interpretation and application of promotions might be subject to misunderstanding or change.
Therefore, when inquiring about promotions or special offers, it is strongly advised to:
Proactive communication and careful review of booking terms are essential to avoid potential misunderstandings regarding pricing and promotions.
For the most current information, to inquire about availability, or to make a reservation, you can contact Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort directly. It is always recommended to reach out via phone to discuss your specific needs and confirm any details, especially regarding services, features, and pricing.

For Michigan locals, particularly those in the southeastern part of the state, Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort in Port Huron presents an interesting option for a short getaway or a longer vacation. Its location in Port Huron offers convenient access from many population centers and positions it near local attractions, including the beautiful St. Clair River and Lake Huron. If you own an RV, the resort provides a dedicated space with the necessary hookups, taking the guesswork out of finding a suitable spot for your home-on-wheels. For those new to camping or who prefer more comfort, the glamping options could offer a unique way to experience the outdoors without sacrificing amenities. The reported friendly demeanor of some front desk staff, particularly Tori, suggests a positive initial point of contact for guests.
However, suitability for locals ultimately depends on individual preferences and priorities. It's crucial for prospective guests to carefully consider the information available, particularly regarding the proximity to the highway and potential noise levels, as well as the experiences of previous customers concerning amenities and promotional offers. If you prioritize convenient access to Port Huron and are prepared for a resort experience that may differ from a completely secluded natural setting, then Dancing Fire Glamping and RV Resort could be a suitable choice for your next Michigan adventure. As with any travel planning, direct communication with the resort to clarify all details is the best approach to ensure your trip meets your expectations.

I recently stayed at Dancing Fire Campground, and I have to say, it was a deeply disappointing experience from start to finish. The issues began right after I booked a 5-day stay, enticed by their website’s offer of a discounted rate when booking 3 or more nights. At the time of booking, the rate was $69 per night. However, just 3 days before my trip, the price increased to $74 per night. When I called to inquire, I was met with an extremely rude and unprofessional attitude from Char—who claims to be the owner, even though the website suggests otherwise. She spoke down to me, insisting the deal only applied to “glamping” and told me I should “look up the definition of glamping.” She repeatedly threatened to cancel my reservation, and her combative tone was completely uncalled for. Despite the rocky start, I decided to go ahead with my stay. The website advertised amenities like a pool and hot tub—both of which were not ready. I was informed by the friendly front desk staff that they were aiming for Memorial Day weekend to have those amenities available. Understandable, things happen. However, when I mentioned this to Char, she flat-out accused me of lying and claimed her staff would never say such a thing. I even sent her a screenshot to prove what I was told. Her response? She said she was “keeping track” and recording my calls and then bizarrely claimed I had been “screaming” at her staff. For the record, I was always polite with the staff—if anything, I lost my patience with her because of her rude and condescending behavior. As for the campground itself, it backs right up to a highway. So if you’re hoping for a peaceful night’s sleep, good luck. The constant sound of cars, semis, rumble strips, and engine braking all night long makes for a terrible camping experience. The fire pits were another letdown—just old, rusted washer drums that looked like they had been salvaged from a junkyard. Not exactly the charming, cozy campfire vibe one might expect. The only bright spot was Tori at the front desk—she was always cheerful, kind, and helpful. Honestly, she should be running the place because Char clearly lacks the professionalism and management skills required to run a business. Overall, I would not recommend Dancing Fire Campground. There are so many other options out there where you’ll be treated with respect and enjoy a better camping experience.
May 27, 2025 · Cord JohnsonLast year's manager was awesome. This year they suck, and thats just one of the reasons we won't ever be going back. we're full time rv people so we know quite a bit about how campgrounds roll. First off the place was tolerable because of Lisa the past manager. With her gone there's no reason to wast my money on a sub par camping experience. Weather your a full timer or not. The place is right next to I 94 going into Canada noisy as hell day and night. They put themselves in a new office which is bigger than the new pool they also put in. The rates went up because of the new amenities. You would think the rate hike would take care of the new amenities right. But no they also want you to pay either a daily rate or a yearly fee to use the pool. Never seen KOA or any other campground charge for the amenities. With all that you would be better off camping on the Blue water bridge it's less noisy. But do what you want we moved to another campground with tree's a lake and what really feels like a deep off the grid camping experience. One more note don't give them a deposit. If something where to happen before your able to gat back for the new season they'll expect you to pay for any time you weren't using the site. Even though do to the lack of people showing up to camp there they tell you , "well we could have put someone in there but we didn't so pay up". Myself and my wife told them to keep my $695.00 deposit and we walked away to a much better and cheaper seasonal campground at Attica Pines Campground. Way cheaper. Anyone can feel free to contact myself for any information on going rv full time. My wife and I would love to help you succeed. Look up Who Deanie's Weenies and Catering the hot dog cart people that's us.
May 17, 2025 · Dean MillerThis growing park keeps improving - there was some construction happening at one end. It is conveniently located right off the highway going to or coming from Canada. But, being along the highway, you do hear some street noise. Our site was #121 - a back-in, gravel site with a picnic table. Staff was helpful. We were just here one night so we didn't have a chance to explore the campground.
Feb 10, 2025 · Susan SchwadererOur family has been Halloween camping for many years now and we think Dawn, Lisa, & crew did an amazing job with everything! The kids enjoyed the carnival, pumpkin decorating, hayride, haunted maze👻, costume parade, & of course the trick or treating!🎃 (& all of these activities were free of charge!) We really liked the location of the cabins. They're near the pavilion & playground so we could keep an eye on the kids at all times. We will be returning! Thank you for some great family memories!
Oct 28, 2024 · Audra NicholsThis place was absolutely wonderful. We got in extremely late and a simple phone call had things coordinated ahead of time. We were even informed of a potluck they were doing that we could join. The unit was so cute and very clean. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, especially as we had to unexpectedly leave a day early! They are still building some things and they look like they are going to be great!
