Nice and quiet. Very large sites.
Apr 16, 2025 · gary harnessDeer Run Campground is a 'sister' campground to Hickory Point Campground, which is part of Sangchris State Park just south of Springfield. It is a GREAT campground. Sites are not squished together, meaning you are not staring into your neighbors widows. Electric at circles A n B. Most sites are 30 amp but I believe there are some 50amp. There are water hydrants in middle for filling up water tanks. Each sight has a cooking fire pit and picnic tables. It is quiet, spacious with young and old trees for shade. Sights are gravel and level, and somewhat short. Basically you can't put a 30ft trailer in and stay close to hitch. The only grip is that most sites are not angled, making it a challenge to back in a 30ft trailer with out having to use grassy area. Depending on site choice, if you need to fill your water tank, you'll need up to 300/400 ft of hose. Host is available from which to borrow hose if necessary. We camped with a 30ft travel trailer, and would camp here again.

Aug 02, 2021 · j pattNice mid sized state park campground, unremarkable facilities but wide campsites and some secluded sites. Our fire ring needed cleaned as there was a substantial pile of ash around it. These are electric only, no water or sewer connections at the sites. Campground hosts are friendly and helpful. Pretty busy on weekends but fee campers during the week.
Oct 09, 2023 · Roger SturgeonBeautiful, clean and quiet for the most part (weekend warriors still are around). Main problems - the glampors who insist on keeping the flood lights on on the outside of their RVs all night long. I had to use clothes and screens to get a bit of dark on our tent ( I think there might have been stars - but could not tell.) And the display of hateful political signs. The state park should not be a gathering for radical violent groups to publicly display their hate. New rules? Quiet and DARK times and No political statement signs at all.
