Operating seasonally from approximately April 1st through October 31st, this destination positions itself as an ideal New Jersey resort setting for memorable family vacations. It is strategically located near the stunning Delaware Water Gap area, offering a unique blend of riverfront recreation and traditional campground amenities. While the experience is highly valued by many loyal patrons, including seasonal campers who praise the dedication of the current management team for bringing new life and excitement to the facility, prospective visitors should be aware that the overall quality of the camping experience can vary, particularly during peak holiday weekends. The campground aims to provide something for everyone, whether you prefer the comfort of an RV, a cozy cabin rental, or the rustic feel of a tent site, inviting guests to escape the routine of everyday life and connect with nature.
The management has reportedly put in substantial effort to enhance the guest experience, focusing on both maintaining existing amenities and introducing "new and exciting attractions." This commitment to improvement is often highlighted by long-term guests who recognize the hard work of the staff. However, the campground's infrastructure has been a source of concern for some visitors, with past reports noting issues with site maintenance, cleanliness of shared facilities, occasional power/water interruptions, and inconsistent enforcement of rules, especially regarding noise during busy times. Delaware River Campground is primarily geared towards family fun and a lively atmosphere, and it welcomes both overnight and seasonal campers to experience the beautiful Northwest Skylands region.

My family and I have been traveling here for the last 3 years. This camping season we have decided to become seasonal after leaving our last seasonal campground of 2 years. In the past 3 years we have come across 3 different managers while staying at Delaware River. Felicia is by far the best manager this facility has had to date! She has truly put in so much effort to turn this campground around. Not only has she brought new and exciting attractions to the campground but she has done a great job fixing and maintaining prior ones that haven't been in use for years. Not only do her efforts speak volumes but so do her husbands! He works an intense full time job regularly and yet he is always working at the campground on top of that. We have come to know most of the staff extremely well in our time being there and they are all so wonderful. The ones I have spoken to have voiced just how wonderful their jobs have become with Felicia as their boss. The entire staff, Felicia and her husband really are a fantastic team who together are making Delaware River Campground a wonderful place!
Jul 18, 2025 · Adam OWhat can I say about this campground? Unfortunately, we experienced numerous issues during our stay. To begin with, we were initially assigned a site that had a large hole in the ground—an extremely dangerous situation, especially considering we have children. While the staff did relocate us without any trouble, it was concerning that such a site would even be offered. We then faced several other problems, including power outages and lack of water. On top of that, we had a very unpleasant encounter with a woman—who seemed to be in charge—who was extremely rude and disrespectful. She insisted that my son wear a helmet, despite the fact that dozens of other children were riding without helmets. While I understand that wearing helmets is the law, I simply questioned why she was only targeting us and not enforcing the rule equally. Her reaction was completely unprofessional—she shouted irrationally and treated us as if we didn’t belong there. The restrooms were another serious concern. They were filthy, with broken showers and no evidence of maintenance or proper cleaning. Tent sites were mixed with RV sites, creating a chaotic and disorganized atmosphere. Loud music of every genre and language was played late into the night with no regulation, making it difficult to rest. The entire campground felt unsafe and poorly managed. Given the large size of the area, there should absolutely be some form of security—especially near the river. But there was none. The staff seemed overwhelmed and clearly not equipped to handle the high volume of guests during the holiday weekend. As for the holiday activities, there was almost nothing offered. A simple golf cart parade was the only event to “celebrate” Independence Day—quite underwhelming. The only entertainment was a man playing music from the 1980s, clearly targeting the permanent residents of the campground. To make matters worse, I noticed numerous portable toilets placed near tent sites—alarmingly close to water sources used for drinking and cooking. This is unacceptable. The water itself smelled terrible, both for bathing and for use with our RV equipment. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this campground and do not plan to return. I would not recommend it to anyone. They have many serious issues to address. I’ve known this campground for nearly four years, and I have seen absolutely no improvements or reinvestments in the infrastructure. Everything remains the same, as if the only priority is to generate income without caring about the quality of the guest experience. It’s truly disappointing, and I honestly do not understand how they still operate three locations and continue to attract visitors.
Jul 07, 2025 · Mayckon EspindolaWe would like to personally thank Felicia, her family and staff for welcoming us! We are first time seasonal campers. They have been helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The staff has a visible presence throughout the campground and is always working hard to improve the grounds! We are enjoying our camping experience and appreciate all you have done!
Jul 13, 2025 · Joy PaolaWe went during a VERY rainy weekend and still left feeling like there was plenty to do. Loved the playground area and the RC track was a huge hit. We rented the loft cabin and it was perfect for us and our small children. It was very clean and comfortable. It had stairs up to the loft- that overlooked the living/kitchen area. A full bath and separate queen bedroom in the back. We will definitely be back- hopefully for better weather.
Jun 19, 2025 · Pam Sell-VillGreat atmosphere. We went tent camping, approximately 100 yards from the river. The spot was immaculate and private enough. We also had awesome "neighbors." The staff was amazing and accommodating on the phone and in the store. Absolutely will return.
