Introduction / Overview
For Pennsylvanians seeking a reliable, amenity-rich, and family-focused outdoor retreat, the Delaware Water Gap / Pocono Mountain KOA Holiday stands out as a prime choice. Nestled at the gateway to two of the state's most cherished natural assets—the breathtaking Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and the vast Pocono Mountains—this campground offers the perfect blend of natural beauty and structured family fun. It operates year-round, ensuring that locals can enjoy the Poconos in every season, from summer swimming to viewing the magnificent fall foliage and even proximity to winter sports.
As a highly-rated KOA Holiday, this facility is designed with the entire family in mind, delivering a "kid-oriented" environment that a long-time customer highlights as a significant draw. One loyal visitor noted, "Me and my family have been coming to this campground for 18 years and it will always be my spot to go to... It's the perfect place to be with your family." This long-standing loyalty speaks volumes about the consistency, cleanliness, and dedication of the staff, whom the same customer describes as "wonderful" and accommodating. The campground successfully bridges the gap between roughing it and comfortable lodging, having expanded from offering simple tent sites to "beautiful cabins that are spacious, clean, and cozy." Whether you're a seasoned RVer, a tent camper, or seeking a comfortable cabin rental, this destination offers a trusted and well-maintained base for your Pocono adventure.

Location and Accessibility
The Delaware Water Gap / Pocono Mountain KOA Holiday boasts an exceptional location that maximizes accessibility for Pennsylvania residents while providing immediate access to major recreational sites. The campground’s physical address is 227 Hollow Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, USA. This placement is strategically superb, situated just a short drive from the true natural wonder of the Delaware Water Gap and the year-round activities of the Pocono Mountains.
The convenience of the location cannot be overstated for local users. It’s located less than a mile from Shawnee Mountain Ski Area, making it an ideal lodging choice for winter sports enthusiasts. Furthermore, it serves as a central hub for accessing the area's top attractions, including the famous Bushkill Falls—often called the "Niagara of Pennsylvania"—and the myriad of river activities like canoeing, kayaking, and rafting on the Delaware River. For locals traveling from the Lehigh Valley, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, or the Philadelphia metro, the East Stroudsburg location is easily reached via major routes such as Interstate 80. While the campground is centrally located, potential visitors traveling with very large recreational vehicles should note the specific geographical considerations mentioned in one review: navigating the internal roads, particularly "two tight 180 degree turns, one of which is practically a switchback turn uphill," requires caution for trailers over 40 feet. However, with communication, the staff can assist in site placement to ensure a smoother experience for big rigs, which the campground generally welcomes with sites up to 100 feet long.

Me and my family have been coming to this campground for 18 years and it will always be my spot to go to. We first started as tents and in the upcoming years they started building these beautiful cabins that are spacious, clean, and cozy. It's the perfect place to be with your family its kid oriented and is close to everything around you if you want outside day activities as well. The entire staff is wonderful they accommodate all of your needs and the entire facility is clean. I will forever love this campground ! Thank you for all your years giving to me and my now children 🙏❤️
Jun 22, 2025 · Nicole KuhlLong trailers beware. The campground itself was very nice. Everything was clean and well maintained. Bounce pad, playground, and mini golf were awesome. But getting my 45 foot long fifth wheel up to the top of the hill where they have the pull through spots was a white knuckle experience. You have to take two tight 180 degree turns, one of which is practically a switchback turn uphill, to get to the those sites. And there’s another tight 180 turn at the end of the sites to head back to the front of the campground. I barely made those turns and was hanging my truck as far outside as possible with inches to spare. I would say if you’re 40 feet or under, not a big deal. Anything over 40 feet, ask to stay off that hill or go somewhere else.
Jul 14, 2025 · RyanStaff- extremely helpful and courteous and address your needs immediately. So much to do and the Sip and paint was a blast. Wine tasting event was great! Bathrooms are well maintained and the campground landscape is natural. Sites are well manicured and private. Cabins are awesome.
Aug 17, 2025 · Nicholas SheridanI've been coming to this location for over a decade. The prices have almost doubled. The prices are at a point that for the money, I'll just go to a resort that cleans my room and changes the towels and linens. The cabin looked clean, but the floors were filthy. I think they only sweep out the cabins after use. The floors left my feet black with dirt. They need to mop the floors. Another issue is the lack of basic customer service. A friendly smile and a hello can go a long way. I was made to feel unwelcome and like I was bothering the staff. I don't know if this location has had a problem with unauthorized people, but they made us wear wrist tags at all times. But when we went to use the over crowded pool, I only saw half the people wearing them as well as people consuming alcohol in tbe pool area. The other issue I have is their check-out time. 10am is too early. Even hotels will give you 11am or even 12 noon to check out. And hotels have to actually replace linens and towels, vacuum and clean. Sad to say, but I think this will be the last visit here.
Aug 11, 2025 · Terr RichWhat a great campground! There was a lot to do and everything was clean. We stayed in a tent site with water and electric. Very nice site but the only downfall was that our site was very far from any bathhouse to use the bathroom. I’d try and get a tent site closer to a bathhouse if you’re going to tent camp! Overall it was a nice stay :)
