Introduction / Overview
Deep within the natural splendor of the Pocono Mountains lies the Resica Falls Scout Reservation, a vast, 4,200-acre tract of wilderness that serves as a cornerstone for outdoor adventure in Pennsylvania. While its primary mission is to host the summer and year-round programs of the Cradle of Liberty Council, Boy Scouts of America, this impressive reservation offers more than just a dedicated space for Scouting. It is an accessible natural gem, particularly known for the stunning, eponymous waterfall and its availability for public facility rentals during non-Scouting periods.
The reservation is centered around the majestic 45-foot Resica Falls on the beautiful Bushkill Creek. The site is a paradise of mountain trails, clear streams, and pristine woodland. For local Pennsylvania residents seeking an immersive outdoor experience—whether for a group event, a fishing trip, or simply to view a magnificent waterfall—Resica Falls Scout Reservation provides a unique option that blends rustic nature with clean, established facilities.
Customer feedback consistently highlights the sheer natural beauty of the location, specifically citing the "Great views of the waterfalls" and the "Awesome trails and scenic views of the streams and river." The quality of accommodations is also a point of praise, with guests noting the "extremely clean" viewing area at the falls and the surprising cleanliness of the rentable cabins compared to other camping experiences. Many campsites are enhanced with built-in wooden tent bases, making for a straightforward and positive tent setup. While some minor facility aspects, like some outlying bathrooms, may show minor wear, the overall camping and cabin experience is widely viewed as clean and overwhelmingly positive.

Location and Accessibility
Resica Falls Scout Reservation is strategically situated in the Pocono Mountains, placing it within a reasonable driving distance for residents across Eastern and Central Pennsylvania. The reservation is located approximately 12 miles north of Stroudsburg in Monroe County, offering a deep-woods feel without being completely isolated from major routes.
The address is 1200 Resica Falls Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18302, USA. Access is straightforward for those navigating by GPS, leading to a large paved parking area near the camp entrance. It is crucial for general visitors to understand the access protocols: the waterfall viewing area, which is easily reached via a short, obvious path from the main parking lot, is open to the public thanks to joint community efforts. However, the rest of the 4,200-acre reservation is private property dedicated to Scouting, and visitors are required to respect the designated boundaries and viewing areas to maintain the privacy and safety of the camp. For groups with reservations, the site is accessed via Resica Falls Road, providing immediate entry into this extensive outdoor paradise.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
Resica Falls Scout Reservation offers Pennsylvania locals an exceptional and surprisingly accessible opportunity to utilize a vast, well-maintained wilderness area in the Pocono Mountains. For non-Scouting groups and organizations—including large families, corporate retreats, hiking clubs, and hunting/fishing enthusiasts—the availability of year-round cabin and campsite rentals makes it an ideal regional destination. You get access to thousands of acres of preserved forest, clean and established lodging/camping facilities, and the stunning natural backdrop of Resica Falls, all close to home.
The primary suitability for locals is twofold: first, the guaranteed, easy access to view the impressive 45-foot Resica Falls itself, a must-see Pocono natural wonder. Second, the rental options provide a turnkey solution for organized group outings. Instead of navigating the complexities of primitive backcountry camping, Pennsylvania groups can book a clean, structured cabin or campsite that includes essential amenities like heat, running water (in lodges), and electricity. This makes it a perfect, low-stress venue for a group retreat that values both the raw beauty of the Poconos and the reliability of organized facilities.

Jul 26, 2025 · Raymond NievesAbsolutely stunning. The falls have a beautiful viewing area that is extremely clean. The staff is nice, and the campsites are clean. They have a number of clean cabins, and during our trip to Resica, I was amazed at how clean they were compared to other cabins. It was fairly easy to set up camp in tents, as the staff have built wooden tent bases around the camping areas, as well as easy access to firewood. The bathrooms outside the cabin are mildly dirty, but the campsite was an overall positive experience.
Feb 25, 2024 · Northeastern railfan ProductionsI had a bunch of fun especially at the pool don’t use the latrines they look like shreks outhouse just used the pool restroom. it’s overall a great experience also it serves good food for breakfast and hot chocolate there is a falls viewing deck too
Aug 09, 2025 · JaydudeplayzThe big best thing that stuck out to me about the place was the beauty and peaceful Resica Falls has to offer. Giving’s a beautiful water fall scene eat whole also having 2 small lunch tables. Place is very small and not much to do gets repetitive after an hour of watching. Great small place to stop and see if your driving by, but not much to do. Free of charge !!
Sep 06, 2021 · DloMediaBeautiful place. All the fencing that was put up somewhat recently is disappointing and takes away from the view, but it's understandable why it's there. It took me 5 years to discover there's hiking trails. I'll be going more often
