Denby Point Campground boasts an enviable location at 119 Ouachita Shores Pkwy, Mt Ida, AR 71957, USA, positioning it perfectly for prime access to Lake Ouachita, one of Arkansas's most pristine lakes. This strategic spot within the Ouachita National Forest means campers are enveloped by natural beauty, with towering trees and the shimmering waters of the lake as their backdrop.
Accessibility to Denby Point is notably straightforward, making it a convenient choice for campers traveling from various parts of Arkansas and beyond. The campground is situated on a well-maintained parkway, which typically offers smooth paved roads leading directly to the entrance. This ease of access is a significant advantage, especially for those with larger RVs or trailers, as it minimizes the challenges often associated with reaching more remote or rugged camping areas.
Being located near Mount Ida, known as the "Quartz Crystal Capital of the World," adds another layer of appeal to Denby Point. Campers have the unique opportunity to explore nearby crystal mines and try their hand at digging for Arkansas's famous quartz crystals, an activity that can entertain both adults and children alike. The close proximity to the town also means that essential supplies, local eateries, and additional attractions are just a short drive away, providing a comfortable balance between wilderness immersion and convenience.
The campground’s design thoughtfully integrates with the natural landscape, ensuring that sites are well-distributed to maximize privacy while still providing easy access to shared facilities and the lakefront. As Denby Point Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) managed recreation area, similar to other federally operated campgrounds, it typically adheres to a standardized fee structure rather than offering frequent, ad-hoc promotions or special offers that you might find at private commercial campgrounds.
However, there are established discount programs that may apply to your stay at Denby Point:
- America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series: This pass series offers various discounts. For instance, the Senior Pass and Access Pass often provide a 50% discount on standard amenity fees, including camping.
- Senior Pass: Available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or over.
- Access Pass: Available for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities.
While Denby Point itself may not run individual "promotions," the value proposition lies in its well-maintained facilities, prime location on Lake Ouachita, and comprehensive amenities (like hot showers and hookups) at a competitive federal rate. The "special offer" is truly the quality of the camping experience relative to its cost.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on fees, availability, and any applicable discounts, it is always recommended to contact the campground directly or visit the official USACE recreation website for Lake Ouachita. Reservations for specific sites are often made through recreation.gov, where fee information and availability are transparently displayed.

We had a group campsite and it was wonderful! I would highly recommend! Plenty of space, privacy and nature!
I absolutely love this place; it's my favorite place to go to get away and be in nature again. Plenty of space between campsites, electrical hookups, running water, and restrooms with showers; everything you could need for a campground! Definitely can't beat the views of Lake Ouachita either. I wish I could live here for the rest of my days.
Beautiful state park. Took a chance, and it did not disappoint. Unbelievable sunsets right out our front window. Roads were a little narrow with frost heaves, but we had no problem with our 38' diesel pusher hauling a 16' flatbed with our SUV on it. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful scenery in a nice escape from the everyday hustle or society. The restrooms are clean with faucets to brush your teeth with, and the showers in the other restrooms were clean. Hot Springs is the nearby big city. Approximately about 1 hr drive.
