While mobile home living can offer flexibility and affordability, factors such as location, community atmosphere, and environmental considerations play a significant role in the overall living experience. Edwards Mobile Home Park, located in Goldsboro, has distinct attributes that prospective residents should be aware of, particularly concerning its placement within the local landscape and the historical context of the area. We will delve into these aspects to provide a well-rounded picture, ensuring you have the necessary information to determine if this community aligns with your housing goals.
Location and Accessibility
Edwards Mobile Home Park is situated at 123 Dawson Dr, Goldsboro, NC 27530, USA. Goldsboro, located in Wayne County, is a key city in Eastern North Carolina, known for its strong military presence with Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and its agricultural roots. The park's address places it within a residential area of Goldsboro, offering proximity to local amenities and services that residents would typically need for daily living.
Accessibility to major roads and city conveniences is a common advantage of properties within Goldsboro. Residents of Edwards Mobile Home Park would likely have relatively easy access to U.S. Highway 70, a primary east-west thoroughfare, and Interstate 795, which connects to Raleigh and other parts of the state. This connectivity is beneficial for commuting to work, accessing shopping centers, grocery stores, and other essential services within Goldsboro. The city offers a range of retail outlets, dining options, and recreational facilities, ensuring that daily needs are met without extensive travel.
However, it is crucial to address a significant point regarding the park's location, as highlighted by customer reviews: the area is within a flood plain. This implies a susceptibility to flooding, which has historically impacted residents. Past events, such as Hurricane Matthew, have caused severe flooding in the Mar Mac area (which Dawson Drive is part of), leading to long-term displacement for some residents. This geographic consideration is paramount for any prospective resident of Edwards Mobile Home Park. While the park offers immediate living solutions, understanding and preparing for potential flood risks associated with its location is a vital part of assessing its suitability.
Despite the flood plain concern, the area is generally described as "quiet," which can be appealing for those seeking a less bustling environment than more central parts of Goldsboro. Proximity to local schools and community services would also be a factor for families considering this location.

Its primary suitability lies in its function as a "starter area" or a place for "immediate/temporary" living. No shade but this area to me is a starter area for those who need a place to live immediately/temporarily. It seems to be a quiet area.
Aug 31, 2024 · PleazureIt's in a flood plan. Experienced two of the worst foods in my lifetime. It has sentimental value for me, but I do not recommend moving out in that area, because the guys who control the dams up in wake county sometimes don't release the rain water early enough. That's the reason Mar Mac is a shadow of it's past self. My father hasn't lived in his own home since hurricane Matthew.

Nov 09, 2023 · Teresa CalhounQuite area. Only issue for the camper sites is the aunts and when heavy storms come in the ground floods. This property is NO dogs allowed. Does not matter if you service animal or emotional support paperwork on them.
