  • Community-Driven Activities: The encouragement of "every night at the campfire" by James and Cindy, the new hosts, fosters a strong sense of community. While not a monetary discount, these informal, inclusive activities add significant value to the camping experience, creating memorable moments and opportunities for social connection that might otherwise cost extra at larger resorts.
  • Return Visitor Incentive (Implied): The review stating "We will definitely be back with our boat and camper next time" suggests a high level of guest satisfaction, leading to repeat business. It's definitely out in the boondocks if you want to get away from the world I highly suggest this place, it's very old Florida. It's an older couple that owns the park and they're very friendly everybody we ran into that lived in the area was very friendly they all drive around in golf carts Gators or side by sides everybody seems to know everybody. It was nice seeing kids playing on a tire swing down the road and kids walking in groups with no shirts and no shoes it reminded me of my childhood! I didn't see a cell phone in any of their hands! We witnessed two 12-year-old boys drive a Jon boat down to the creek and back it in on a four wheeler by themselves with no adults and they knew what they were doing. This is the kind of place that you leave your doors unlocked at night and you do a lot of front porch sitting with an iced tea or lemonade in your hand. We tent camped just to check it out, and we loved it it was very primitive and very away from everything. We tent camped under a canopy of trees right next to the creek with our two dogs. We will definitely be back with our boat and camper next time.

Cindy and James Roker were the epitome of hospitality. James was full of good local advice and let me borrow his one and only out-of-print map. They invited me to the nightly campfire where I enjoyed meeting many of the folks who live in the Howard Creek community. Brad gave me some pointers of places to explore. Willis brought fried bream (caught that day!), hushpuppies and french fries to pass around. The company was great. It is dog-friendly (which was important to me). Noah, the Howard Creek dog, even came by to make his introductions. The bathrooms were clean. The ramp is in great condition (no charge if camping). The Rokers have recently started running this camp and have enthusiastic plans for the future. I hope it all comes together as they intend. Howard Creek (the creek) is beautiful even in the winter.

Bunch of drunks hanging around, yelling, cursing, constantly. Used to be family friendly. Now you can hardly even launch or load your boat. We stopped camping there and use another landing.
