For RV travelers and locals in Kansas considering a stay in the Fort Scott area, Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park presents itself as an option for parking your recreational vehicle. Located amidst the landscape of Southeast Kansas, this RV park aims to provide a place for both short-term and potentially long-term stays. As with any developing property, understanding the current state of its offerings and facilities is key to planning a successful visit.
It's important to approach Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park with an understanding that it appears to be a property in transition or "under construction," as indicated by recent customer reviews. While the name might suggest a fully operational, established resort, available feedback points to an ongoing development process that may impact the experience for transient visitors. This overview aims to provide a factual depiction of the park based on publicly available information and recent traveler insights, helping prospective guests in Kansas make informed decisions for their RV journey.
For those prioritizing quiet and simple parking, it might offer a basic solution. However, for travelers expecting a comprehensive range of amenities typically found at a fully developed RV resort, managing expectations based on the latest feedback is crucial. The goal here is to present a clear picture, allowing Kansans to determine if Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park aligns with their specific needs for an RV stop in the Fort Scott region.
Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park is located at 2152 Native Rd, Fort Scott, KS 66701, USA. This address places it in the vicinity of Fort Scott, a city with historical significance in Southeast Kansas. Native Road suggests a setting that may offer a degree of rural tranquility, away from the immediate bustle of the city center.
Accessibility to the RV park from major routes leading to Fort Scott is generally straightforward, as the city itself is well-connected by state highways. However, specific details regarding the condition of Native Road for large RVs, particularly during adverse weather, are not readily available in provided information. The park's location, while offering potential for a quiet environment, also means that visitors arriving at night, as some reviewers have mentioned, might find the area to be without external lighting, which could impact ease of navigation upon late arrival.
Being situated in Fort Scott, guests would have access to the city's amenities and attractions, including historic Fort Scott National Historic Site, local dining establishments, and shops, typically within a reasonable driving distance. The convenience of accessing these local services would depend on the direct route from Native Road to the city's main areas. For RVers traveling through or planning a stop in Southeast Kansas, the geographical location provides a base, but understanding the on-site conditions is crucial for a smooth arrival and stay.
Based on customer reviews, the services offered at Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park appear to be in a state of development or limited. It is important for prospective visitors to manage their expectations regarding the availability and condition of amenities.
Given the feedback, it is strongly advised that visitors confirm the operational status and condition of any desired services directly with the park prior to booking.
Based on the provided customer reviews, the features and highlights of Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park are currently presented with significant caveats, largely reflecting a state of "under construction" or disrepair. Prospective visitors should be aware of these points:
It is crucial for any potential visitor to "ask for proof this place is up to standard before you book," as advised by a past customer. The current features highlight a park that is not meeting basic expectations for an RV resort or even a reliably functional overnight stop.
Given the customer feedback indicating ongoing issues and a state of "under construction" or disrepair, there is no public information or indication of active promotions or special offers at Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park. Typically, RV parks that are fully operational and seeking to attract guests will clearly advertise discounts for extended stays, seasonal specials, or loyalty programs.
Based on the available reviews, the primary concern for guests seems to be the basic functionality and safety of the park, rather than seeking out promotional deals. If the park were to offer promotions, they would likely be aimed at attracting new visitors despite the current conditions or as an incentive for long-term stays if specific improvements have been made.
Prospective visitors are strongly advised that before considering any stay, they should directly contact the park to inquire about its current operational status, available amenities, and any potential offers. This direct communication would also serve as an opportunity to verify the condition of the park's facilities as advised by previous guests.
To contact Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park for inquiries or to verify current conditions, please use the following information:
It is highly recommended that you call these numbers directly before planning any visit. Based on customer reviews, some travelers reported difficulty getting a hold of anyone or encountering a lack of staff presence on site. Therefore, it is crucial to establish direct contact to confirm the park's current operational status, available services, and the condition of facilities. This proactive step will help you gain accurate, real-time information and address any concerns raised by past visitors regarding safety, site conditions, or amenity availability, ensuring that the park meets your specific needs for an RV stay in Fort Scott.
For Kansans considering Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park, it is crucial to approach this destination with a clear understanding of its current state as described by recent visitors. While any RV park aims to provide a suitable place for travelers, the feedback suggests that Fort Scott Crossroads RV Park is currently in a state of development or disrepair, making it a potentially challenging option for many.
For locals in Kansas, particularly those seeking a reliable and comfortable overnight stop or a functional long-term base, the primary suitability of this park would hinge entirely on significant and verifiable improvements being made since the recent reviews. While its location near Fort Scott offers potential access to local attractions, the reported issues with unlevel sites, lack of lighting, questionable restroom facilities, and absence of on-site staff raise serious concerns about safety and basic functionality for transient travelers.
It might be suitable for very specific scenarios where a no-frills, absolutely basic spot with potential electrical access is the only requirement, and where the traveler is fully self-sufficient and undeterred by the reported conditions. However, for the majority of Kansas RVers who expect reasonable comfort, safety, and operational amenities, it is strongly advised to conduct thorough due diligence by contacting the park directly and seeking recent, verifiable proof of improvements before considering a stay. The sentiment among recent visitors suggests that, in its current reported state, it does not reliably meet the standards expected of a typical RV park for locals seeking a comfortable and secure place to park their recreational vehicle.

I stayed here January of 2023. My review is no longer showing. Not sure if they changed the name? When we stayed it looked like long term people were living there and it was certainly not a “resort” for nightly travelers. Nothing was level and there were huge holes we discovered as my husband tried to hook up and fell in one. No lights (we arrived at night) and no workers. Toilets were outside what was supposed to be the restroom and there were ax markings on the doors to the restrooms. We did not feel safe at all. We did get a refund and only stayed one night (arrived at 10pm with nowhere else to go). We could never get ahold of anyone but they sure contacted us after the first negative review. I’m posting again bc we just drove by and I was curious if this place ever got better. From the looks of the reviews, this place is still “under construction” which is not posted on their website. The photos posted did not convey what was truly there and I found it suspicious there were so many 5 star reviews. Take notice of the disparity in these reviews as you read them. And mine was no longer listed. I highly recommend you ask for proof this place is up to standard before you book. I know a lot can change in 2 years but there are people still saying the same thing and I don’t want anyone getting duped.
Dec 08, 2024 · B&K AusteneThis place is a joke. It is under construction and there were 10 sites but most of them look like people that stayed there a long time. I had reserved one spot and we were moved to another spot. I asked for pull thru, hoping we could keep our automobile connected. But the campsite was so uneven that we had to unhook, just to get the trailer level. there is no pool, it's all grown up with weeds around it. And nobody around, it might be a nice place someday, but not now.
Aug 24, 2024 · Donna TuckerGreat place to stay!!! Owners are hospitable and are always improving the park.
Apr 02, 2025 · Ben TeafordWe didn't even stay here. Drove through, beginning of the off season, and there was one guy staying there. He came out to talk to us and must have been on commission because he tried real hard to talk the place up. Nope. The roads, if you can call them that were super bumpy and not at all maintained. The pool was covered, but not completely, there was a sign that said no pets in the playground. There is no playground. $45 a night? Absolutely not. We're staying at Linn County Lake for $16 and it's level, and beautiful! I just read a one star review from someone who did stay here and said many of the same things and more. The new management said it was all due to renovations. That was 9 months ago. All spring and summer, and if they did the renovations at all, I didn't see any of it today, in November.
Nov 19, 2023 · Shauna RobinsonWhile in need of a last minute arrangement, the owner was exceptionally responsive and accommodating!
