  • RV Sites: Offers sites long enough for large RVs (e.g., 40ft RVs), indicating suitability for various sizes of recreational vehicles.
  • Full Hookups: While not explicitly detailed, most modern RV parks offer water, sewer, and electric hookups. Customers noted that "spaces are long enough for our 40ft RV," which usually implies full services.
  • Clean Restrooms: A highly praised service, with customers specifically mentioning "GREAT, Clean bathrooms!" This indicates a high standard of hygiene and maintenance.
  • Activities Program: The campground offers "Many activities on Saturday," suggesting a structured schedule of events to keep guests entertained.
  • Food Service Options: "Food trucks available" (though a customer noted not trying them), indicating convenient on-site dining options during certain times.
  • Pet-Friendly Area: A "dog park area" is mentioned, suggesting the campground welcomes pets, though its condition may vary (noted as "like walking through a swamp" after rain).
  • On-site Store: Offers "Store items," though a customer noted them as "pricey even for campground standards."
  • General Maintenance: Reviewers noted "really nice improvements to the camping areas" and "freshly laid sod," indicating ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade the grounds.

It is important for prospective guests to be aware of the cancellation policy. They also mentioned inability to find the policy on the website or initial reservation, highlighting the need to clarify cancellation terms directly with the campground.

Features / Highlights

Gettysburg Campground offers several key features and highlights that enhance the camping experience, drawing visitors back repeatedly. However, it's also important to present a balanced view based on customer feedback.

  • Spacious RV Sites: A significant highlight is the ample length of the RV spaces, capable of accommodating "our 40ft RV," which is crucial for larger rigs and provides comfort.
  • Quiet and Peaceful Environment: Customers consistently praise the "Quiet and peaceful area and neighbors," creating a serene atmosphere conducive to relaxation.
  • Excellent, Clean Bathrooms: This is a standout feature, with reviewers emphatically stating "GREAT, Clean bathrooms!" This is a major comfort for all campers.

  • Pet-Friendly Amenities: A dedicated "dog park area" is a welcome feature for pet owners, allowing their companions to exercise.
  • Proximity to Gettysburg Battlefield: While not explicitly a "feature" of the campground's internal amenities, its location is a massive highlight, offering easy access to one of the most historic sites in the U.S.

However, some points raised by customers to consider include:

  • Tight Width for Slides: RVers with slides might find the width of some sites "a bit tight."
  • Soggy Sod/Dog Park: Recently laid sod was noted as "muddy and soggy," and the dog park area was described as "like walking through a swamp" after rain, indicating potential drainage issues in wet weather.
  • Pricey Store Items: The on-site store items were considered "pricey even for campground standards."
  • Cancellation Policy Clarity: A notable concern was the lack of clear communication and publication regarding their strict cancellation policy, resulting in the loss of a full deposit for a late cancellation.

These points offer a comprehensive overview, allowing prospective campers to make an informed decision based on both strengths and areas that might require consideration.

I had to cancel my reservation 8 days prior and the campground kept my entire $98 deposit. I spoke to someone on the phone and he NEVER mentioned anything about taking the full amount...he said whatever was left would go back on credit card. I under having to pay a late cancellation fee but considering they still had over a week to rebook the site, $98 is way too much to 'donate' to the campground. When i looked at my initial campground reservation as well as their website, I could find nothing about a cancellation policy. I definitely will not rebook at this campground!!!!

I rented RV site 19, so I can't speak on the rooms in the cabins. But the Site itself is stoned, fresh sod was just put down This campground is beautiful and nicely kept and laid out. Plenty of things and activites for the kids and family. Near the playground and bath house. The comunity fire pit patio is awesome. The only thing I would recommend is that you install a cover for shade over the cornhole pits. As it got very hot during the daytime to play. All Staff was so pleasant. I would definitely be back to stay.
