For Texans who own traditional RVs and are seeking a quiet, straightforward, and relatively new park experience in East Texas, GRAVES RV PARK in Carthage presents a suitable option. Its distinct policies and developing features cater to a specific segment of the RV community, making it a viable choice for many local residents.
The primary suitability stems from its emphasis on being a "Nice quiet" park. For those in Texas looking to escape the noise and find a peaceful retreat, this atmosphere is a significant draw. As a "fairly new park," it likely offers modern infrastructure for its essential services, a benefit for RVers seeking reliable utility hookups. While the lack of immediate lush landscaping is noted, the expectation that "it will come after winter" suggests a commitment to future enhancements, indicating a park that is investing in its long-term appeal.
However, it is crucial for prospective guests to be aware of the park's specific vehicle acceptance policy. The explicit denial of "truck campers" and "camper vans," regardless of their amenities, means this park is exclusively for traditional RVs. This policy, while potentially frustrating for owners of those specific vehicle types, creates a more uniform community environment that might be preferred by others. For Texans with conventional RVs who value a quiet setting, direct access, and the potential for a continually improving park, GRAVES RV PARK offers a clear and distinct choice in the Carthage area for both short-term stays and long-term residency.
Customer Reviews
Quoted something completely different on the phone verses when I arrived. An inspection of my camper was never even mentioned. Upon arrival the receptionist lady practically immediately said no without even looking at my truck camper. All truck campers are considered "shells" and therefore not allowed to stay at this campground which makes zero sense. I have a full bathroom and kitchen, yet still denied and never inspected. From the business standpoint not allowing truck campers of any kind makes no financial sense they are typically smaller and require significant less electricity and water therefore the company would actually be profiting more by allowing them. Camper vans are also not allowed at this campground.
Still a fairly new park. Could use some grass , But I'm sure it will come after winter. Nice quiet. They could use a second dumpster or pick up trash around the one they do have
