Location and Accessibility: Your Gateway to Grand Haven Adventures

The strategic location of Highway to Haven Family Campground is undoubtedly one of its most significant assets. You'll find this inviting campground at 800 Robbins Rd, Grand Haven, MI 49417, USA. This address places it perfectly for exploring all that the renowned Grand Haven area has to offer.

Grand Haven is famous for its picturesque lighthouse, expansive sandy beaches along Lake Michigan, and the vibrant downtown area with its unique shops and eateries. From Highway to Haven, these popular attractions are just a short drive away, allowing campers easy access to stunning sunsets, refreshing lake swims, and exciting local events like the popular musical fountain. This convenient proximity means less travel time and more time enjoying the Michigan coastline.

Despite its proximity to US-31, a major highway, which some may initially perceive as a potential source of noise, many visitors find that the ambient traffic sounds quickly fade into the background, often described as a 'white noise' that can even aid in relaxation. This slight trade-off in audible tranquility is often outweighed by the immense benefit of easy access to major routes, simplifying arrivals and departures, and making day trips to other West Michigan gems effortless. The campground's location truly offers the best of both worlds: a natural setting with the convenience of urban amenities nearby. This makes it an ideal base for exploring not just Grand Haven, but also neighboring communities and attractions throughout the region.

I moved in for a seasonal stay. The owner Peter is very friendly. The camp sites are spaced pretty well. There grounds are kept up nicely including a nice sand volleyball court. I discussed the negative review about the speed limit with the owner and am it sounds like the person that left the review does not know what it is like to have children and drive safely through residential areas. I am happy he is watching out for his guests.

Although close to US31 and highway traffic can be heard, the facilities are clean and the park is well run. The traffic noise can be tuned out like white noise. Plenty of trees and green spaces. This was our second time here and plan to return.

Worst campground I’ve been too, highway is very loud and it doesn’t even feel like you’re in nature. You have to drive through the Chevy dealership to get into the campground. Owner screamed at two 16 year old girls for going 7mph and threatened to charge them with trespassing for not taking him seriously.

We loved our stay here for Memorial Weekend! There are several seasonal campers that stay for the full season, so it felt homey. We stayed for 2 nights and went to the beach and nearby parks for hiking. There’s a Meijer and Walmart 0.2 miles away with everything you need. Pros: Great, friendly staff! Steve lives on-site, so is always available for firewood or help. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen at a campsite! Cleaned daily. Pickleball, basketball, and dog park were great extra amenities. Great tree coverage (on our spots, 54 and 53). Every spot has water, electric hookup, a fire pit, and a picnic table! Very dog and kid friendly. Cons: We were in the middle of the campground and the highway was very loud. We could hear revving and honking throughout the night.

We enjoyed our 3 nights. The campground was very clean. We were able to enjoy pickle ball, basketball, corn hole, connect 4, and various other games they had readily available. It was surprising to enter the campground using the drive on the back side of the car dealership, but once you knew where you were going it wasn’t a problem. Our spot backed up to US31 and we did hear the traffic on the highway. (It is called HIGHWAY to Haven) We knew that ahead of time, so it didn’t bother us. Someone wanting a completely quiet spot might be bothered.
