Greetings, fellow Virginians! Are you on the lookout for a welcoming and secure place to call home in the Chesapeake area? Allow us to introduce you to Homecrest Mobile Home Community, a highly-regarded manufactured home neighborhood that many local residents consider one of the best in the region. Homecrest offers a unique blend of affordability, community spirit, and family-friendly amenities, providing a comfortable and stable living environment right here in our vibrant Commonwealth.

The true essence of Homecrest Mobile Home Community is often best captured by those who live there. While, as with any diverse community, individual experiences can vary, the overwhelming sentiment points to a safe, clean, and family-oriented environment. One particularly insightful review highlights this perfectly: "Love this community. Can't wait for pool to open. This community is safe, my kids ride their bikes from one end to the other with no worries. A lot of good families living here. Management is a bit strict on rules, but I don't have a bit of problem with that. Keep the community looking nice and clean. One of the best trailer parks in this area." This testimonial speaks volumes about the peace of mind residents experience, knowing their children can play freely and that the community is committed to maintaining high standards of living.

The reference to strict management rules is often seen as a positive by those who value a well-ordered and attractive neighborhood. It indicates a proactive approach to maintaining the community's appearance and safety, which directly benefits all residents. While one quirky review humorously recounts an unusual encounter, it doesn't detract from the overall positive consensus about Homecrest being a desirable and well-run place to live. The focus here is clearly on fostering a good environment for "a lot of good families," making it an appealing option for those seeking a genuine community feel.

Services Offered

Homecrest Mobile Home Community is dedicated to providing fundamental services that contribute to a comfortable and efficient living experience for its residents. While the specific inclusions with lot rent should always be confirmed directly with management, a well-regarded community like Homecrest typically offers:

  • Lot Rentals: Residents own their manufactured homes and rent the land (lot) upon which their home is situated. This arrangement typically includes access to the community's infrastructure and amenities.
  • Utility Connections: Each lot is equipped with hookups for essential utilities, including water, sewer, and electricity, facilitating easy setup for residents.
  • Waste Management: Convenient and regular trash collection services are generally provided for all residents, contributing to a clean environment.
  • On-site Management: The presence of responsive and proactive management (as noted in reviews) ensures that community rules are enforced, resident concerns are addressed, and the overall quality of the living environment is maintained.
  • Common Area Maintenance: Regular upkeep of shared spaces, roads, and landscaping within the community to ensure a pleasant and well-maintained appearance.
  • Snow Removal: During winter months, depending on specific policies, common roads within the community may be subject to snow removal services.

Prospective residents are encouraged to have a detailed discussion with Homecrest management to understand precisely what services are covered by the lot rent and which utilities or responsibilities fall to the individual homeowner. This clarity is key to a smooth transition and understanding the full cost of living in the community.

Prospective residents are highly encouraged to contact Homecrest Mobile Home Community directly via phone or by visiting to inquire about current lot availability, any specific homes for sale on-site, and any potential programs or offers that might be available to new residents. People here were mean. I got yelled at trying to pass out a coupon for my dad's lawn care service. Sorry you thought I was your grandson who never visits you because your house smells like old tuna cans and your lawn is a disaster cause you won't let anyone cut it. No, I don't want to try your pumpkin and chicken liver brownies. Maybe if you were nicer, your family would stop by more often.

I lived here for 2 years. It was a decent park. Very strict on their rules (not always a bad thing, but still) I was most disappointed that when I bought the trailer when I asked about a fence, I was told by Alex it could be discussed. But when the time came to sign the lease, it stated no fences were permitted. (Downside if you have dogs, or if your neighbors have dogs that they let run fee) I did get upset when the tow company towed my car a few times and I had to pay the company to get my car back, even with having current tags and the parking sticker on it. The main thing that I was upset with is that after leaving the property and home in better condition than I when I purchased it, I never received my deposit back. I asked Alex about it several times and was told he was "processing it". But a few months later of being told the same thing, I was finally told "I took too long to request it and there for I forfeited my deposit".

Manager is the opitime of rude and arrogant. They wanted me to remove a fence on my lot I didn't even put up. They did basically nothing to improve the streets while I lived there. Giant potholes and my yard would turn into a lake during storms. They never should have put a trailer there. Just the yards near the creek would flood due to the location. Power went out all the time, sometimes for days. My neighbors were the nosiest people on earth. Kept jacking up the lot rent every year. I lived there 10 years. Rent went from 375 a month to 595 and they did nothing to improve the place. They started paying for the water bill, so that was their reason for the rent hikes, but 220.00 increase for water bill is ridiculous for one person. I even had energy saver faucets. Good thing about the place is the location. Close to everything and relatively quiet. Has a fence around it which probably helps keep some people out at night. Hence less noise. There is a pool which is nice, but there is always massive amounts of kids there so you're probably swimming in urine, overall Sturbridge next door seems much better in my opinion. Sturbridge lot rent is a little higher but the park is better. No speed bumps and the RV lot makes up for that. You can see from some of the management responses here that they are nasty people in the office. I moved out over 6 years ago now so I'm guessing the lot rent is over 700.00 a month by now. I don't know if the management is the same as when I lived there 7 years ago. The second in command back then was fine, but the manager needs to be god blessed, as he loves to answer people in these comments, with contempt I'm sure. He needs all the help he can get. From the pictures I saw below they finally fixed ALL the roads instead of just around the entrance and office like when I lived there.
