Campsite fees are typically fixed, and reservations are often handled through national systems like recreation.gov.
For Ivan Lake specifically, campsite fees might be around $24.00 per night for improved sites, usually requiring credit card payment (no cash). While there aren't traditional "promotions," the value lies in the affordable access to a beautiful natural area with excellent fishing and camping opportunities. Visitors might also find that yearly passes or specific state-issued licenses (like fishing or hunting licenses) are required for certain activities within the Wildlife Management Area, which could be considered a form of access fee rather than a promotion.
It is always advisable to check the official websites of the managing agency (e.g., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for Lake Red Rock's Ivan Lake, or Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for local WMA regulations) or contact the park directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information on fees, reservation policies, and any specific requirements for camping or other activities.

Apr 21, 2025 · Karl LaneNice calm water and decent fishing. Bring your own form of shade though.
Oct 05, 2023 · Donnie PawlowskiThis was a great day. I went to Lake Ivan and found a bunch of walking trails and species of flowers that the honey bees were enjoying. I also came up to a baby alligator. I saw 6 total snakes today. One close to me and 5 near the trees down over the dam on rocks. What a perfect place to hike in nature. I had such a good time.
May 30, 2021 · Megan LivesayOne of our favorite places locally to camp. Located in the Bodcau Wildlife Management Area, it has a handful of well manicured, primitive camp spots with a pit toilet bathroom nearby. It has three wooden docks on the eastern side of the lake from which you can fish or just enjoy the majestic beauty of the lake. A boat launch is located on the northeast portion of the lake near where the check in area is. Camping is free unlike most of the other places in the Bodcau WMA where camping is allowed. A bridge/dam runs west from the main area toward a more secluded dock. I'm terrible at fishing but even I've managed to catch some little ones from the dam facing north.
