We Are The Observers

We spent five wonderful weeks at Jackson Lake Campground in our RV, and overall, our experience was fantastic. The campground is clean, well-maintained, and offers a peaceful atmosphere. While we did notice a few instances of litter near the trash bins and some occasional cleanliness issues with the restrooms, we understand that these are the result of inconsiderate guests, not the staff's efforts. I’ve come across some reviews mentioning concerns about the water quality, but we used a filter, and the water was perfect for our needs. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we had an excellent experience. They were friendly, helpful, and provided top-notch service. The only minor issue we encountered was the water supply being located underground, which caused it to flood when it rained. This made it a bit inconvenient to connect and disconnect the hose, as we had to deal with cold water, but it was manageable. We’ve also seen some reviews mentioning the cost increase, and while it’s understandable to be concerned about price changes, it’s important to recognize that the cost of living changes over time, and businesses must adjust accordingly to meet their financial goals. All in all, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Hmm. There’s good and bad, the inflatables are very pleasant however the Inflatables were not cleaned. The area would be very enjoyable if it were kept up in terms of cleanliness. There is a LOT of goose poop on the “beach” and they really should be cleaning it on a daily basis. Service was excellent. Very family friendly there’s a family pool with a max depth of 4 feet deep. In the entrance room there’s a few arcade games, the bathrooms were fine in our experience.

We were celebrating our daughter's 16th birthday her favorite place to camp and swim. Everything is well kept. Check in is the main building now and it opens at 10 and closes at 7 which means so does the main restroom had to walk to the other side of the campgrounds to use the restroom. Wish the beach stayed open at least till dark. Check in isn't until 2 which only gives you 5 hours to swim the day you get there and checkout is at 11. Give you an hour to swim the day you leave. Random people just had a cookout next to our site and didn't even have a tag so I guess you can get a day pass a the pool and use the camp sites while your there. A little high in price 115 a night for 5 to 6 hours of swimming and it was non electric with no water. Park rules are its supposed to be quiet after 11 and most definitely is not. If your want peace and quiet do not stay here. Cars continuously driving and people screaming all night long.

So originally I was not super thrilled when we arrived but that changed quickly. We booked last minute on a holiday weekend and had like 2 options for a spot. I wasn’t happy with our spot but again that’s my own fault. I would definitely book ahead and look at the map to find a good spot. Some are very close to neighbors. Others are really nice. I was upset The pool was not open since there was no post about it being closed and the website says it would be open the weekend of Memorial Day. So I went into everything with a pretty crappy attitude. THEN, we went to the lake and at the desk was the new managers. They have only had it for 2 weeks now. They were super super sweet. She told us that they really did everything in their power to have the pool open and it just did not work out. They worked really hard to get it fixed and it needs to cure for like a week. I believe she said. So completely NOT their fault. Again they have only been there 2 weeks. We met some seasonal people and they were super nice as well. Our kids made friends quickly. The little lake was so much fun. My children were upset we had to leave early due to the storm coming in. We did not want to travel back in the storm. Overall, a really cute place.

After a couple visits, this one for a whole weekend I have only good things to report. Now if you’re looking for fancy, shiny facilities, this isn’t your place. The pool is very clean and shiny however and the bathrooms aren’t gross (they’re campground showers/bathrooms the wash lake water off so…) but not gross, even after a weekend of traffic through them. The campsites are incredibly clean and well kept with water spouts (electricity option even with primitive) The staff are patient and easy going very professional and courteous. All in all this is a wonderful time spent with my family, by the end of the day the kids are limping around, falling asleep in lawn chairs (as it should be) and it’s SO CLOSE to the city as Columbus residents we can’t wait for next time. Our new easy getaway at Lake Jackson.
