Be sure to bring Mountain bikes. This is a BMX / Mountain bike dream vacation. Helmets are a requirement on all signage. Plenty of walking paths. Close enough to the ocean but by car highly suggested unless an athlete. Limited availability for camping or great for a daily bike visit.
Mar 30, 2025 · James KleinGreat Campground. Grounds are kept nice. Bathrooms and Showers are very clean. Within walking distance to the Elsa Kimball environmental center and River store. There are very shady spots. Each site has a grill and fire pit. Water and electric hookup.
Jun 02, 2024 · Jeremiah RambergClean campground close to the river with a boat ramp close. Lots of widelife for your viewing. Great for fishing or take your paddle boats or boards out. Big enuff ramp for small to medium size boat. Staff is really great. Don't forget your pedal bike. There are lots of trails to ride.
Jul 22, 2024 · steve 0Fabulous! There is a front coming through over the 5 days we've been here. Winds 15-40 mph keeping the majority of biting suckers at bay. Fhu at pine grove. We stayed on the River CG W&E only. Well kept CG, clean bath houses, boat ramp, rentals and store on site. Playgrounds, picnic areas, pavilions for rent. Observation tower was closed. Gator culvert had a gator, probably the same one, at every check.
Apr 11, 2024 · donna nehrenzThis is a nice park however our campground (River) had one of the two bathrooms closed for what was described as maintenance even though there was no activity at the closed bathroom for the entire 9 days we were there. The only bathroom open on our campground had one of the two showers in the men's bath closed the whole time when the campground was at full occupancy.. Camp hosts were great and park is really nice. But there needs to be a greater sense of urgency to restoring the bathrooms to full operation.
