The availability of essential amenities like water and electric hookups, a spacious dump station, laundry facilities, and recycling options, all contribute to a comfortable and convenient stay, even without full sewer hookups at every site. The "price is right," especially for seniors, making it an affordable choice for many.

UPDATE 5/27 - Spent the week here once more for Memorial Day weekend and low and behold they were enforcing a lot of their ordinances. Even their website had been updated with notices of what will not be tolerated, loud music is now on the list. Yipee. So I upgraded my overall rating to a 4. As stated below, if they had full hookups at each site, they would get a 5 rating. ------------ Nice. Campground and staff are quite friendly. Park host was driving his golf cart around and visiting with most RV’ers. Some sites are spacious and others are stacked next to each other. The biggest drawback is the day park. It is an EXTREMELY busy "day" park, especially on the weekends, which in and of itself is not the bad part. The bad part is you have to listen to Spanish or rap music reverberating across the water from 1/2 mile away on most evenings and on the weekends. Lewisville has a noise ordinance but doesn’t appear to be enforced. Sometimes it’s so loud I cannot hear the people I’m talking to on the phone or when watching TV. Strange thing is the park ranger lives in the park and his RV must really have good insulation cause you’d think he would shut that stuff down. You will love the park if you like Spanish or rap music and you want to have a personal DJ. The park has water and electric hookups and has a dump station within the campground. I give 5 stars for location, 4 stars on service (would give 5 if they had hookups for sewage at the site), and 3 stars overall due to loud music that is not being enforced.
Jan 24, 2025 · Brent WalkerUpdate: 2nd time around two years later and my experience was much better though it started a bit worrisome. They had me in 48 which I tried, but my electrical cord, though quite long, wouldn't reach the meter. So I went to the office and was put on 2. Well, the water wouldn't turn on. So, back to office I went. Unfortunately, they had a water issue and that section had been turned off. So, she had me drive around and look for a spot that would work. First empty spot was 30 so went to office and luckily that spot was free for the next 4 nights. It was a water & electric only back in spot looking onto the lake. I enjoyed a few great sunrises. At the back bathhouse the showers are ok. The water spews from the spout kind of pelting you. But there's hot water so good enough. I found out though, as I was leaving I checked out the front bathhouse and it's definitely in better shape then the ones in back but the showers though the shower heads are nicer, they are less private as there is openings next to the wall to the neighboring shower. They have a laundry area and the wi-fi worked pretty good this time. It didn't reach the back area I was in last time. I gad to extend my stay a night due to the extreme high winds in Amarillo so I had to move to spot 36. That was nice too everything still reached and wi-fi still worked well. On my way out used the easily accessible dump station. I would definitely stay again. I stayed in spot 83. They are doing some upgrades to the electrical so half the spots are not available. I was lucky enough to get a spot for a few nights and the price is right. Seniors it's even a better rate. The spot I was in was narrow but because it's in the back on the end there is lots of space around it. The wi-fi is hit or miss it may be better in a spot closer to the office. Most nights it was non-existent. I had to use my hot spot. The staff is very friendly. The bathrooms need some updating and are extremely hot (at least in the back area). The shower I used was more like a power washer you will be clean. There are no sewer hook-ups but the dump station is spacious and has a few hook-up areas so more than one person can use the area at a time. They also have an area there to recycle paper, plastic and aluminum cans so that is really nice. They do have a laundry area on site; however, I didn't visit it. When I arrived on Sunday, the Walleye Picnic Area across the street was hopping. Lots of commotion and loud music thumping. And the road was full of cruisers. However once it got dark it quieted right down. I did hear that it's like that some weekends so you may want to prepare yourself for that. I did hear the music while inside my RV but again spot 83 is close to this area. The sunrises are gorgeous. And very worth staying here. Sunsets too. The location is great as well close to everything you may need. I would come back again. Note, the do lock the gates at night from 11pm - 6am. So, you do have a curfew while staying here. There is a huge issue with people trying to come through the campground to get to the lake. So, the staff has to stand guard at the gate turning them around even though there are clearly marked signs stating there is no access.
Mar 24, 2025 · Roberta PeekThe male staff is cordial and professional. The female manger is unpleasant. Here’s why: we come in 3 hours early and she denies us check in. The problem? She did that with several guests who either made reservations or to see a spot available. There were at least 10 guests with trailers or Vans/motor homes. When it came time to check in, everyone who waited formed a gaggle and became upset. It got out of control quickly. The reason why I was upset is because she changed our spot after we reserved one. We were in line again and were asked to go back (even with a reservation. I refused since the line was long and people were growing impatient. My point, instead of her being willing to work with guests, she chose to be rude, unprofessional, and unfriendly. When it came time for her to check in guests, she tried making excuses to me why she can’t do her job. I remained silent and waited for her to her job. My point, she caused issues that were unnecessary. She should not be there. If you see her? Avoid her, expect poor customer service, and good luck.
