Liberty Lake Campground isn't just a place to pitch a tent or park an RV; it's a hub for outdoor recreation centered around the beautiful 167-acre Liberty Lake, boasting five miles of scenic shoreline. It provides a more rustic and authentic camping experience, particularly appealing to those who appreciate simplicity and the quietude of nature. The self-serve check-in system adds to its relaxed atmosphere, allowing visitors to settle in at their own pace.
Liberty Lake Campground is conveniently located at 7413 S Academy Rd, Guthrie, OK 73044, USA. This address places it just a short drive from I-35, making it an accessible spot for Oklahomans traveling from various parts of the state. While it's easy to get to, the road leading into the campground is described by some as a "potted and somewhat questionable red dirt road." It's important for visitors, especially those with larger RVs or trailers, to be aware that recent rain can make this road quite muddy, potentially coating vehicles in Oklahoma's distinctive red dirt. This detail is worth noting to ensure a smooth arrival, but it's a small trade-off for the secluded and quiet atmosphere that awaits.
Despite the rustic entry, the location offers a perfect balance of being close enough to the conveniences of Guthrie while feeling completely immersed in nature. The peaceful setting ensures a true getaway experience, free from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet with easy access for quick trips into town if needed.

Customer Reviews
I know I’ve posted about this place before but I just wanted to repeat. This lake is absolutely beautiful and so not overwhelming busy. I go for the trails around the lake. I love mountain biking here. The trail system is equestrian so horses, hiking and biking only. There is a small park fee for daily use $3 person and for boating and camping are different prices. Upon entry of property you pass the park rangers house and there’s a box on the side of the house at the gate to fill information and pay.
Stopped here for a quick night camping while traveling on I-35. The fact that there were no reviews made me concerned so here is the first review. This campground is not for the large motorhomes. A potted and somewhat questionable red dirt road leads you in. Negative to this is if there has been rain recently your trailer will be full of this red dirt. Check in is self serve - first come. There are 8 gravel spots to choose from. No hookups. All sites are dry camping. Sites are not level, but not terrible. If you have a trailer you will have to disconnect to level. Nice amount of space between sites. The campground was absolutely quiet. Cost is $14/night. Great price compared to the nearby RV park that charges $50/night. Will come back again. Call the city of Guthrie, OK for more information. Camped here in March.
Great place. City keeps it well. Nice place inexpensive 😃
Nice little place. Put $12 in the box on the side of the house.
It was beautiful BUT there are sticker thorns and your dogs are in danger of getting them stuck in their paws! My poor lil baby was in so much pain after one of his paws had got stuck pretty bad.
