Our first time here! Chad and Tammy were exceptional! To the owner; please treasure those two and treat them with the utmost respect! They went above and beyond! Tammy was extremely helpful and very flexible with us and Chad was present, friendly and efficient as we had a few questions! The place is big, well laid out, quiet and camp spots so clean with water hook ups! We will certainly be back.
Sep 21, 2025 · MichelleOverall good place and we enjoyed ourselves. Bathrooms and sites were well kept. Staff was friendly. You are close enough to all the things in town with out feeling to close... I will say through no fault of their own sites closer to the store are closer to a main road so you can hear cars so if you want more quiet definitely select a site towards back of the campground. Also most days the camp store closes at 5 so remember to get firewood before that... we forgot and had to run to town not huge deal but definitely something to keep in mind. My biggest issue and why I only gave it 4 stars was the fact that according to the campground map which says there is a second playground in the main camping area and we specifically choose our site to be across from it for our kids. Only to find out there is not a playground. Also the main playground/rec area across the busy road could use a little upkeep and fresh paint as it definitely shows it's aging. The beach area is more of a pond which is really fun to catch frogs and salamanders but I didn't want my kids swimming in it. Child amenities for a place that charges a child fee even though they say they're a family campground and say that your site covers two adults and two children seemed very poor taste.
Jun 24, 2025 · Diane LaChanceMy campsite was pretty great. The neighbors were all friendly and the campground was nice and quiet at night. The bathroom, though clean, smells so very strongly of mildew. Also, charging 25 cents for 5 minutes to shower is absurd. I might have been fine with it if the machines in which you put the quarters didn't constantly jam up. The last day I was there 3 of the 4 showers weren't operational because they were jammed.
Sep 02, 2025 · Rose MartinI went to this campground a few times growing up, and I was finally able to book my first trip as an adult. We went in the off-season (early May) and I highly recommend it to those who want a quiet getaway. The summer months tend to get crowded with campers. We booked a cabin by the river and it was very calming and beautiful. The cabin is bare, so we knew to bring our own supplies and entertainment. Since it was still cold in the evenings, the staff kindly provided a heater for our cabin. They also left a list of recommended restaurants in the area. It was a very peaceful trip, I only wish I had booked longer.
May 16, 2025 · Leilani DeStefanoI’m so disappointed to write this review because we wanted to love this place so bad! This place has so much potential and I think probably used to be a special place, but there is a ton of updating and maintenance needed. I think we also should have known something was off when they charged a child fee at booking despite calling themselves a family campground. The playground was really run down, I don’t think it’s been cared for in years. Everyone in our family got splinters. I could not imagine people swimming in the pond so do not be mislead by the beach thing (it’s a tiny pond and very mucky), although there are lots of frogs and salamanders for catching which are cool! Also, you have to cross a VERY dangerous highway to get to the pond and playground. The campground is right along a highway so yes you can hear running river water but also trucks and motorcycles all night long! Also the river cabins are very high up and it is very difficult and steep to actually get down to the river. The bathrooms were clean but could use a little updating and basically no shower water pressure. The staff were polite but I wouldn’t call them welcoming. All in all, we left a day early and unfortunately would not return. We thought we were paying for a great family experience but I think this place has forgotten to be welcoming to families based on the playground and the fee for bringing kids, and it all around just felt misleading with the “swimming” pond advertised and river sites that are actually along a highway, etc.
