Features / Highlights

Natures Trace Park is truly distinguished by its unique features and highlights, which collectively create an unparalleled experience for RVers in North Carolina.

  • Exceptional Owner and Staff Hospitality: This is perhaps the most emphasized highlight. Owner John Logan and his wife Cheryl, along with maintenance manager Brian and store manager Celia, consistently "go above and beyond to make this place feel like one large family." Their "respect and genuine concern" for residents create an incredibly welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Strong Community and Family Atmosphere: The park intentionally cultivates a "large family" feel. Regular "monthly get togethers at the tiki hut" for various occasions (e.g., Super Bowl watch party, St. Patrick's Day, Easter celebrations) where everyone brings a dish and owners provide the main course, fosters deep bonds among residents. "Everyone here knows everyone."
  • Spacious, Wooded, and "True Camping Experience" Lots: Unlike many parks with tightly packed sites, Natures Trace offers "huge lots and cut into the trees," providing privacy and a genuine, immersive camping experience amidst nature.
  • Visionary Ownership and Ongoing Improvements: The owners, John and Cheryl, have "ideas about the future" for the park, and guests have seen "several of his ideas come to fruition" in a short span, indicating continuous investment and improvement.
  • Unique Amenities: The inclusion of a shared garden, an "awesome tiki hut," and rental tiny/A-frame houses adds distinctive value that sets this park apart from conventional RV resorts.
  • Flexibility for Long-Term/Seasonal Stays: The park clearly caters to and excels at accommodating long-term and seasonal residents, making it a stable and desirable home for those seeking an extended stay in North Carolina.
  • Waterfront Access: While the specific nature of the waterfront access isn't detailed for every site, the mention of a "snow storm at the water front" indicates that some areas, or the park itself, offers access to water, providing an added natural amenity.

Promotions or Special Offers

While specific monetary "promotions" like discounted daily rates aren't explicitly stated, Natures Trace Park offers significant value through its unique operational model and community focus. The most notable "special offer" is the inclusive community events. As highlighted by a long-term resident, the park regularly hosts "monthly get togethers at the tiki hut for various occasions," such as Super Bowl watch parties, St. Patrick's Day celebrations, and Easter gatherings. For these events, residents are invited to bring a dish to pass, while owners John and Cheryl "provide the main course." This generous provision of food and creation of social opportunities acts as a substantial value-add, fostering community and enhancing the overall experience at no direct extra cost to the residents for the main meal.

Furthermore, the park's appeal for long-term and seasonal stays suggests that their pricing structure for extended periods is competitive and reasonable, especially compared to experiences at other parks that may have significantly increased their rates. Prospective residents interested in seasonal or annual rates are highly encouraged to contact the park directly to discuss pricing details and learn more about the calendar of community events they can participate in. The "family" atmosphere and the continuous investment in amenities and social gatherings are ongoing "promotions" that enrich the lives of those who choose Natures Trace Park as their home.

We had a great stay during a rare snow storm at the water front. The place was perfect for us as we were on a guided hunt nearby. The place was clean and the communication was as if we were family. Highly recommended. Planning to stay with them again in the future.

Before I start my review of Nature's Trace Campground let me first tell you how we ended up here. In 2016 we found a campground within a mile from where we are now and rented a seasonal site which we enjoyed immensely. We spend 6 months here visiting and spending time with our daughter, son in law and grandson, and then 6 months in New York to be with our other daughter, son in law and two granddaughters. We rented there from 2016 until December 2023. In 2021, unfortunately the owner passed away and the task of managing a campground was too much for his son. At the time we were paying $4k per year. In 2022, a new owner came in and the annual yearly rate rose from $4k to $4,400. We completely understand that prices go up and we accepted the rate without reservation. The following year the rate again rose from $4,400 to $4,840. In 2023, shortly after arriving for our seasonal stay the new owner asked what our plans were when our seasonal term was up to be renewed. We advised him we were planning on staying at which time he told us that the annual rate was increasing from $4,840 to $6,600 per year, and we would have to move it from where our spot was to a new less desirable lot. We were disgusted and wanted to leave and we found this gem of Nature’s Trace campground less than a mile away. The minute we drove through Nature’s Trace we knew this was the place. The lots are huge and cut into the trees and it is the true camping experience. We met with the owner John Logan and agreed on the site we wanted and he had his staff prepare the site. We were excited to hear from him his ideas about the future for Natures Trace and in just over 16 months of being here we have seen several of his ideas come to fruition. We have a camp store, a large garden for campers to share the bounty, an awesome tiki hut and gathering place, on site washers /dryers, restrooms and showers, tiny houses and A frame houses to rent, and a whole lot more. Monthly get togethers at the tiki hut for various occasions, Super Bowl watch party, St. Patrick's day celebration, and coming up next weekend an Easter celebration. Everyone brings a dish to pass, and the owners Logan and his new wife Cheryl provide the main course. The best however are the staff, John and Cheryl, Brian the campground maintenance manager and Celia the on site store manager. They all go above and beyond to make this place feel like one large family. We are seeing more and more people discover what Nature's Trace is all about and are moving in. Everyone here knows everyone and it is truly a large family. The plans they have in the works will be awesome in the future and will make Nature’s Trace even more awesome than it already is. The part that can't be overstated is the respect and genuine concern the owners and staff have for its residents. I emphatically suggest you give Nature's Trace a try you won't regret it.

I just spent a week at Nature's Trace in the A3 tiny house with my family and our dogs, and it was awesome! The tiny house was really spacious, way more room than I expected. One of the highlights was how close we were to the Vandemere boat ramp—just a quick 5-minute drive! This made it super convenient for our fishing and boating adventures. Plus, having a dog park on-site was a fantastic bonus for our furry friends to stretch their legs and play. I also loved that the campground has a store for essentials and a laundry room, so we didn’t have to go into town for anything. It’s great that you can use the address for USPS, UPS, and FedEx deliveries too! The area is beautiful, with water and forests all around. It’s the perfect spot for anyone who enjoys fishing, boating, or hunting. We had such a great time and will definitely be back!
