Promotions or Special Offers
As a campground managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Melvern Lake, Outlet Park Campground generally adheres to a standardized fee structure, rather than offering frequent, independently run promotional discounts. Their value proposition lies in the high quality of their facilities and the extensive recreational opportunities available at reasonable, federally set rates. However, for Kansans, there are common practices and potential considerations that can offer value:
- Standardized Pricing: Rates are typically published and consistent across different booking platforms (like Recreation.gov). These rates are often competitive for the level of facilities and access provided.
- America the Beautiful Passes: For eligible individuals (e.g., seniors, military personnel, individuals with disabilities), national park passes may offer discounts on camping fees. Since it's a Corps of Engineers park, these passes often apply.
- Off-Season Rates: While not explicitly advertised as a "promotion," camping rates can sometimes be lower during the off-peak seasons (e.g., late fall to early spring) when demand is reduced. It's worth inquiring about seasonal variations in pricing.
- Reservation System: The park uses a reservation system (likely Recreation.gov), which allows campers to plan and secure their desired site well in advance, avoiding disappointment, especially for the popular "best spots on the lake" which "are rarely available."
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any potential discount programs for which you might be eligible, Kansans should visit the official Recreation.gov website for Outlet Park Campground or contact the Melvern Lake Project Office directly. While you might not find flashing "deals," the consistent value, cleanliness, and extensive amenities at Outlet Park Campground make it a consistently attractive and worthwhile choice for outdoor enthusiasts in Kansas.

Customer Reviews
Really great campground, lots of place for kids to play, the swimming beach what is one of the nicest around. The campground hosts are awesome, very kind and thoughtful and they keep everything so clean. I would go out of my way to camp here again.
Giant campsites in A loop with an excellent bathroom and shower house but not any shade. C loop has great shade and sites are average size. B loop reminds me a typical rv park with slanted pull through sites that are fairly close together but has a really nice shower house too and is close to the boat ramp.
We went to a Lance Owners of America rally at Melvern Outlet. This is the perfect location for group camping. The facilities are so nice. There is a pavilion with a sink, long buffet serving area, grill, picnic tables and bathrooms. There is a great walking trail with signage identifying the flora. We will be back for more visits.
Beautiful area! The restrooms/bathhouses are well maintained. There is also a path around the outlet (~2 miles) that is so peaceful & pretty. Lots of rangers around to ask questions about wildlife or the park, or give directions to open boat docks.
Beautiful lake! We camped at the end of the loop and had plenty of extra green space to ourselves. The bathrooms had showers and were cleaned every morning. Perfect lake for kayaking and fishing. Can't wait to camp here again soon.
