However, there are standard opportunities for discounts and savings that Kansas locals should be aware of:

  • Federal Recreation Passes: Visitors holding certain federal passes, such as the America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass or Access Pass, may be eligible for a 50% discount on standard amenity fees, including individual campsites. It is always advisable to present your valid pass upon check-in or when making a reservation to confirm eligibility.
  • Seasonal Rates: Camping fees can vary based on the time of year, with peak seasons typically commanding higher rates. Planning your visit during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall) or weekdays might offer a more affordable and less crowded experience.
  • Group Reservations: While individual site promotions are rare, large groups planning an outing should inquire about the special-use camping area, which might offer more economical rates for group bookings.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on fees, availability, and any potential specific offers, it is always best to check the official Recreation.gov website (which handles reservations for most federal campgrounds) or to contact Arrow Rock Park Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. Booking in advance, especially for popular weekends and holidays, is highly recommended to secure your preferred campsite and ensure a smooth arrival.

The campsites at this site are pretty close together and there was a lot of train noise at this location. But the grounds are clean and well maintained. Swimming was good. There was a trail but it was really hard to find. Sites have different features and there are two shower houses. I found lots of “treasures” around the campground. There is a playground.

Great area for primitive or RV camping right on the edge of the lake. I took in the sunset along the water's edge. It was a very peaceful noise free escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Some of the primitive spots are rocky, perhaps suited more for overlanding vs. ground tent.

Great spot for water recreation and camping. Not a lot of shade near the water if you're planning on fishing. Restrooms are kept up and the playground is in good shape.
