For many residents across Northeastern Pennsylvania, the desire for an accessible, low-cost housing solution near urban centers is a priority. Pocono Mobile Home Park, situated in Wilkes-Barre, PA, offers a viable pathway to homeownership and long-term residency in Luzerne County. This established manufactured home community provides an alternative to traditional, high-priced real estate, serving as a valuable option for singles, couples, and families looking for affordability and convenience.
Located on Jumper Road, the park operates as a residential community where individuals own their manufactured home and lease the land (lot) it sits upon. While being an older community, it provides a stable and consistent base for local users who work or study in the greater Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area. The community’s primary appeal lies in its affordable structure and its position within a major service and employment hub of the region, ensuring that residents are never far from necessary resources, shopping centers, and medical facilities.
It is important for prospective residents to have a clear and factual understanding of the community. As with any older development, there are maintenance concerns, and the condition of the internal roads has been noted by residents as a significant issue, requiring cautious navigation. However, a powerful positive counterpoint highlighted by those who live here is the strong, supportive atmosphere among the neighbors, where residents are quick to offer assistance to one another when needed, creating a genuinely helpful environment despite any physical shortcomings of the infrastructure.
Pocono Mobile Home Park is conveniently located at 740 Jumper Rd, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702, USA. This Wilkes-Barre address places the community in a strategic position within Luzerne County, ensuring good accessibility for those who commute or rely on local services. The location is relatively close to major roadways, allowing for practical travel throughout the Wyoming Valley and to larger nearby cities like Scranton.
Being situated in Wilkes-Barre, residents benefit from the proximity to a full range of urban amenities, including shopping plazas, dining options, healthcare providers, and employment opportunities. It is served by the Wilkes-Barre School District, which is a key consideration for families with children. The school assignments for the area include Solomon/Plains Elementary and Solomon/Plains Junior High School, along with James M. Coughlin Junior-Senior High School, placing the park within an established educational network.
While the community itself offers a quiet, residential setting on its internal roads, the accessibility to the greater region is a substantial benefit. This balance between a residential enclave and urban access makes the park highly suitable for locals who want to live affordably near the economic engine of the area. It is necessary to be aware that some of the internal access roads within the park have been cited by visitors and residents as being in poor condition, featuring large potholes. As a local user, being prepared for these internal driving conditions is essential, particularly when visiting for the first time or driving larger vehicles.
The community offers the essential services needed for stable, long-term manufactured home living. Unlike some more rural parks, Pocono Mobile Home Park benefits from connections to municipal infrastructure, which is a significant advantage for home maintenance and utility reliability in Pennsylvania.

It should be noted that the resident feedback suggests management may not have an on-site presence, so calling ahead for an appointment or leaving a message is the best approach for connecting with the community administration regarding any administrative or tenancy questions.
Pocono Mobile Home Park is highly suitable for local Pennsylvanians in the Wilkes-Barre region for pragmatic, necessity-driven reasons. In a state where housing costs can be a barrier, this community offers one of the most practical and accessible entry points into homeownership within a major city's radius. The affordable lot lease payments, combined with the low property taxes typically associated with manufactured homes, make the overall cost of living significantly lower than traditional residential housing nearby.
Furthermore, the community's location—with its direct access to the Wilkes-Barre School District and major public utilities (water and sewer)—eliminates common concerns associated with more rural mobile home parks. Most importantly, the park's strongest asset is the people who live there. The overwhelming feedback about the supportive, kind, and neighborly residents means that for a local user seeking a place where they can find a helping hand and a genuine connection to their community, Pocono Mobile Home Park is an excellent fit. While the physical infrastructure, particularly the roads, requires caution, the social infrastructure of goodwill and mutual support makes this a welcoming and sensible choice for local Pennsylvania residents looking for affordability and community in Luzerne County.

Crappy looking place, roads are falling apart, no mgmt on premises
Aug 21, 2025 · Cindy SI have a friend that lives here, so I've been here pretty often over the last couple of years. I can say the neighbors tend to keep to themselves until someone needs help. I was having car trouble and having a hard time figuring it out and a few neighbors came out to try and lend a hand. The only reason I gave only 3 stars is because the roads here are atrocious!! The potholes are huge, it's like driving through a minefield.
Sep 03, 2023 · Diana CookeQuiet place. Roads are not plowed or fixed. Major potholes. No office. No one in charge on property. Neighbors stay to themselves. No bus stop. No street signs. Lots of stray cats. Name has changed.
Nov 30, 2017 · Kim SandoThe roads are full of potholes, but some of the trailers are nice but others not so nice. A lot of the yards are kept up with and groomed and others not groomed.
