Moosic, PA 18507, USA
For many residents across Northeastern Pennsylvania, finding housing that balances affordability with a convenient location can be a significant challenge. The Moosic Trailer Park, an established manufactured home community nestled in the heart of Moosic, PA, offers a practical and budget-friendly alternative for Lackawanna County locals. Known for providing a pathway to comfortable living through lot rentals, this community serves as a long-standing option for those seeking a less costly housing solution near the Scranton and Wilkes-Barre metropolitan areas.
The term 'mobile home park' in Pennsylvania refers to a manufactured home community, a residential area where individuals often own their manufactured home but lease the plot of land, or lot, on which it sits. This structure provides a key financial advantage: significantly lower monthly housing costs compared to traditional homeownership or renting a stick-built house. The Moosic Trailer Park embraces this model, making it a viable consideration for working families, retirees, and individuals looking to stretch their housing budget without moving far from regional job centers and amenities.
While the character of any older community can vary—with residents often noting a mix of well-maintained and older homes—the park provides a basic, essential service: affordable land rental. The known lot rent is notably lower than many other comparable communities in the wider Pennsylvania region, a critical factor for local users prioritizing value. For a Lackawanna County resident, the prospect of managing a monthly lot rent of approximately $299.00 (based on recent public feedback) represents a substantial savings opportunity.
The geographical placement of Moosic Trailer Park is one of its most attractive assets for residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Located in the borough of Moosic, the community is part of the 18507 zip code, positioning it ideally for accessibility. Moosic itself is centrally situated between the larger cities of Scranton and Wilkes-Barre, an area often referred to as the Wyoming Valley.
Accessibility is paramount for commuters, and the park’s location offers excellent connectivity to major state and interstate routes. It is positioned near Interstate 81 (I-81), a primary north-south artery that provides direct, quick access to both Scranton to the north and Wilkes-Barre to the south. This makes the Moosic Trailer Park an appealing option for local users who work in either city, or even those who travel further on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-476), which is also reachable within a short drive.
Beyond commuting convenience, the Moosic location places residents near a wealth of local amenities. The area is close to Montage Mountain, offering year-round outdoor recreation, including skiing and a water park. Furthermore, residents are in proximity to major retail and dining hubs, such as The Shoppes at Montage Mountain, ensuring that everyday shopping needs, entertainment, and employment opportunities are just a short drive away. This combination of affordability and unparalleled access to regional infrastructure solidifies the park’s appeal within the Pennsylvania housing market.
The core offering of Moosic Trailer Park is the lease of a mobile home lot, or lot rent, which includes essential community infrastructure and services. The following are typical services that a community of this nature generally provides to its residents in the Lackawanna County area:
While Moosic Trailer Park maintains a focus on functional, affordable living, it possesses several distinctive features that make it a notable option for local residents:
For prospective residents and general inquiries from the Pennsylvania community, accurate and accessible contact information is essential.
Address: Moosic Trailer Park, Moosic, PA 18507, USA. (Note: Specific street addresses within the park, such as Honor Park Trailer Ct, are used for individual homes, with the general zip code confirming the location in the borough of Moosic).
Phone: Prospective residents or those seeking lot availability should contact management associated with the property. (While a specific phone number for the community as a standalone entity is not universally published, inquiries for mobile home parks in this area often go through the management group, which has been associated with the nearby Moosic Heights development: (570) 457-0705).
The Moosic Trailer Park presents a compelling case for suitability, particularly for local residents of Lackawanna County and the greater Wyoming Valley. In an increasingly competitive housing market, this community excels in delivering on the promise of true affordability. The low lot rental fee is arguably the single most critical factor, providing a sustainable housing option that frees up financial resources for other essential needs or saving for the future. For individuals and families who desire to live in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area but cannot afford the rising costs of traditional housing, Moosic Trailer Park fills a crucial need.
Furthermore, its location is perfect for the quintessential Northeastern Pennsylvania lifestyle. Residents are never far from work, school, or leisure. The ease of access to I-81 means the best of the region—from the universities and downtown life of Scranton to the entertainment and retail options of Moosic—is at their fingertips. While the environment is clearly one of mixed upkeep, the community structure allows motivated residents to cultivate a welcoming, personal space, fostering small, localized pockets of neighborhood pride and stability. Ultimately, for the Pennsylvania local seeking an affordable, convenient, and relatively stable place to call home, Moosic Trailer Park is an established, economically sound choice that continues to serve a vital role in the regional housing ecosystem.
A lot if really run down trailers/RVs. One area near the top section was nice, a couple people caring for their area by planting flowers and keeping yard nice. Most other ones have no yard at all.
