As a Wisconsin State Campground, Lake of the Pines operates under the fee structure set by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Therefore, it doesn't typically offer commercial "promotions" in the retail sense. However, there are inherent "special offers" or benefits associated with camping at a Wisconsin State Park or Forest campground:
- Affordable Nightly Rates: Wisconsin State Park System campsites generally range from $15 to $35 for residents, making Lake of the Pines a budget-friendly option for a natural retreat. Specific rates for non-electric sites are usually at the lower end of this range.
- Wisconsin State Park Vehicle Admission Sticker: While not a discount on the camping fee itself, purchasing a Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission sticker (annual or daily) provides access to all Wisconsin state parks, forests, and recreation areas. For frequent visitors, the annual resident sticker ($28) offers significant value.
- Advance Reservations: The ability to reserve campsites up to 11 months in advance is a significant benefit, allowing campers to secure their preferred site and dates, especially during peak seasons. This provides peace of mind and simplifies planning.
- Access to Flambeau River State Forest Activities: Your stay at Lake of the Pines grants you direct access to the vast recreational opportunities within the Flambeau River State Forest, including extensive fishing, paddling on the Flambeau River, and numerous hiking trails, all without additional entry fees beyond your vehicle sticker.

Customer Reviews
I think this State Park was great, my camp site was beautiful, the docks were well put together, built for fishing, there was beautiful scenery and wildlife.
Awesome campgrounds! Pretty well kept and some lovely scenery. Kinda hidden away from all the busy State Parks. The newer built fishing docks was nice. There was a newly constructed pit toilet building, though I hate using pit toilets the newer one was cleaner and didn’t smell as much. Beach isn’t much of anything but it’s there and is nice on a hot day.
Great campground! Nice primitive sites, good space. We were in 112. Pretty lake, but weeded along the entire campground shore.
Fantastic camping/tenting grounds with a large lake and a park. A boat launch near the tenting site and beautiful up kept place. Bathroom facilities and accommodations in the park. Will be back. Coolest thing at night is star gazing.
A great State Forest Campground. Worth the try. Trails to walk from campground or elsewhere nearby. Two nearby bar and grills make this place ideal for all weather scenarios and remains set back in the beautiful woods of Wisconsin. .
