Customer Reviews
Nice campsite. Not many trees for cover, imagine it would be hot tent camping during summer. Beach a bit small. Playground is very nice, separate little kids and big kids areas. Plenty of trails. Bathrooms include separate shower rooms. Waterloo is a huge Park.
Overall, it's a great campground. It's quiet and clean. The only complaint I have, and would caution to others, is that quite a bit of the campground is unlevel. Our site (43) was a decent lot, but a significant portion was sloped downhill, which made it unusable. It was described as a "level lot," but overall it was not. That said, there were also a ton of flat sites, so the campground is still a great place for campers.
Nice campground. We stayed in the north loop, sites 22 and 23 for a cold early april weekend 2025. Not much going on this time of year (DNR still comes around to clean the bath house), but the north loop was about full for the weekend. Bath house is a newer modern style used by many state parks. Heat was on, showers were hot. I will say the "waterless" urinal in the mens room (the higher of the two) is a little too high. I am 6'3" and it was almost to tall for me. The lower one is probably about the right height and most young boys will struggle with that one. You can see they had been changed from a standard flush style to the waterless style, so i suspect that has something to do with the height. Paved sites were a bonus and appreciated this early in the season to help keep the mud/dirt out of the camper.
Great little campground. Be warned the north loop "improved"/paced sites are on the small side, and your neighbors are close by. Many sites on the south loop are bigger, but some are pretty uneven and might not do well with bigger RVs . And no, I'm not going to suggest favorite sites. Go check it out for yourself.
I've been going to this campground for years! Our camp host, Peggy, was amazing as always! This year, the mosquitos were horrible! Never have I ever had to put on spray as soon as I left my vehicle. The swim area is great! The Rangers are always helpful and kind. The dump station was clean, and I still need a trash can there, I think. Makes it easier to dispose of gloves or small trash. The only complaint I have is that the fore rings are too close to trailers. I feel like they should be off the cement pad. With most trailers having slide outs and awnings, red hots can pop and get on them. Bathrooms were clean, and showers were decent. Time for different shower heads, half of the one I used was clogged up. Volleyball court with sand would be nice and same with horseshoes. Kids love the playgrounds and the hills for their bikes.
