We RV and had a wonderful spot, all pull through and really pull throughs. Grounds are well cared for, trash pickup twice a day, bark park, ice and fire wood, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and beautiful scenery. The cavern is in walking distance and was a great experience also, more rustic than Ruby falls and small groups which made the experience so much better. They also have some cabins and primitive campsites. The children seemed to love the area, we didn't have kids with us, plenty of space to ride bikes, a playground, pool, game area and all around secure area tucked in beside Raccoon mountain. They sit 15-20 minutes outside of Chattanooga where most attractions and restaurants are found.

My partner and I did the waterfall dome wild cave tour and loved it! Our guides, Emily and Rachel, were very knowledgeable about the cave and its ecosystem, and it was a delight to learn from them. They also took pictures for us so we didn't have to take our phones down into the perils of the deep which was very swag. We got to see lots of cool flowstone features, lots of fossils, some salamanders and cave insects, and of course water features as the name of the tour suggests. There will be mud, some tight squeezes, and body bridging over shallow canyons; if you are very scared of heights or small spaces, this is not the one for you. If you are somewhat fit and enjoy these kinds of physical challenges, go for it!

I can not say enough good things about Raccoon Mountain! This was my second time staying and it was another amazing experience. The grounds are so beautiful and well kept, the showers are clean and hot and the staff is absolutely amazing! They also had a pet sitting area that was sooo helpful when I wanted to grab some food/supplies before check in. You can’t go wrong staying here and i can’t wait to get back for another stay! I did the gem panning and the cave crawl and it was so much fun! Timothy was a great guide! I did the walking tour the previous time I stayed and that was a lot of fun too! I desperately needed a mini vacation and raccoon mountain and their staff made it the best experience and time I could have had! Thank you all for the perfect campground experience!

We visited Raccoon Caverns last Saturday, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. Our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about the cave’s history and ecosystem. She not only shared fascinating details about the cavern formations but also introduced us to the local flora and fauna. One of the highlights was seeing a salamander up close—something I had never seen before! While Ruby Falls was nice, I believe Raccoon Caverns truly deserves more attention and appreciation. It’s a hidden gem that offers an authentic and enriching experience. If you’re visiting Chattanooga, I highly recommend adding this to your itinerary—you won’t be disappointed. Plus, the people in Chattanooga were incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the trip even more special

We went exclusively to the caverns for the living cave tour. Our guide, Devon, was incredibly knowledgeable. I felt like I just experienced an episode of The Magic School Bus. It was fantastic. The cave is much darker than others with more colorful lights instead of blazing white to minimize stressing the little critters. It made for an entirely different atmosphere. Very cool.
