If you are riding the C&O towpath, want a place to camp with hot showers and are willing to walk up some seriously steep (but short) hills, stay here. We did. Zero regrets. Bathhouse has been remodeled. Showers are hot with great pressure. Campsite was perfect. Camp store well stocked. Jim and Cary (Kerry) were awesome and super helpful.

Not sure what happened to my prior review which was somehow deleted. My camper was broken into and robbed while in storage at this campground last year. The manager didn’t even have the decency to refund me the $50 storage fee I paid for safe storage. I filed a police report with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office. The manager still denied that it happened and claimed that I lied. That’s the type of customer service you can expect here.

After doing some research, my family decided on a day trip to Ridge Rider Campground! This was the best decision I could have made. The camp host/manager of the grounds was absolutely amazing. As newbies to RVing, we were a little nervous about our first official camping trip. John was really awesome even though it was a Holiday. He quickly recommended a different site that would better accommodate us, and when we hit a little snag with lifting our levelers, he did what he could to lend a helping hand ON CHRISTMAS DAY!!!!! We will absolutely be back and recommend these grounds for anyone looking to camp!

What a great family campground! We went for the halloween weekend and let me tell you the kids and us had a blast. There was never a moment when the kids were saying they were bored. Very well maintained and organized! From fishing, basketball, playground, pumpkin carving, costume contest, trick or treating, which they got a pile of candy over 20lbs and the haunted hay ride was perfect! Thank you for a great family weekend we will remember forever!

Great location and friendly staff. We tent camped in the lower field. Lots of room, not on top of each other. Quiet. Bring your bug spray lots of bugs before the sun goes down. Once the sun went down no more bugs. There are outhouses at the field. But for showers it's about a half mile up the road. That's why it only gets four stars.
