If you're looking for a peaceful, well-kept spot to park your RV and take in the natural beauty of the Ohio River, River Front Park Campground in Brandenburg, KY, is a gem worth discovering. This city-run campground features 16 gravel RV sites, all with water and 50-amp electric service. Tent camping isn't allowed, which keeps the vibe quiet and RV-focused. Most sites offer excellent river views, especially sites 1116, which are slightly elevated and provide a sweeping look across the water. That said, site 11 is the most uneven, so bring your leveling gear. On the plus side, site 16 boasts the biggest yard and arguably the best layoutif you can overlook the city's water pump, which runs nearly nonstop (it only paused for a couple hours during our weeklong stay).Sites 110 are more level, with site 1 being the smallest but conveniently close to the shower house. Meanwhile, site 10 sits on a corner lot with a large grassy front yardperfect for relaxing or setting up outdoor gear. One downside we encountered was the shower house access. The building is often locked, and there's no reliable way for campers to get in. One night, only one shower was unlocked, but thankfully the water was nice and hot. The next night, again only one out of four showers was unlocked, and this time there was no hot water at all. It would be a big improvement if the city installed combination locks or another access systemespecially since the current doors can be easily locked by a previous user, unintentionally or not.Despite that hiccup, the campground is immaculately maintained. The grass is mowed every Thursday, and the maintenance crew treats the place like a 5-star resort. Seriouslykudos to the team that keeps this park looking pristine.Though it's a quiet campground without the hustle and bustle of a resort, Brandenburg offers plenty of activities nearby. Check out local gems like:Buttermilk Falls TrailheadSquire Boone CavernsIndiana CavernsOtter Creek Outdoor Rec AreaHungry? Within walking distance are:Riverview Caf Great food and even better people.Jailhouse Pizza A unique building, though the food is average. The city provides free Wi-Fi hotspots throughout the park, but be aware: the signal strength varies greatly, so you may want to bring a cell signal booster like we plan to on our next trip. AT&T service was mostly 4G, with occasional 5G coverage. There's a great sense of safety at the park. The friendly police officers patrol regularly, and there are security cameras throughout the grounds. One officer even stopped by to chat like a fellow camper, such a nice touch. Riverside benches that offer some breathtaking sunset viewsJust remember to pack a cell booster, bring a couple leveling blocks, and hope the shower house is unlocked when you need itor better yet, advocate for some access improvements. Either way, this riverside gem is well worth a visit.

In 640ish miles paddling the river so far this was the worse experience by far. It started as hurricane Helene was due to hit and we decided to paddle 26 miles to make it to Brandenburg, as I saw from Google they had a CAMPsite. We made it about 7pm, just as the rains were spitting a little. I dragged everything, all the food water and everything we needed the last 42 days out of the water and up under the shelter. I booked a campsite for 2 nights right then and hurried to set everything up before the rains came, moving everything from the shelter to the campsite maybe .25 to .33 mile. As I was getting the last few things, the police came again and said "the park closes at dusk" and I said " i have a site." He then told me I can't camp in a tent there. I was like "what do you mean you can't camp in a tent? It's called a campsite, that is what camping is. If it is an rvsite, call it that". He was indignant and did not care. He threw me out at the start of a hurricane, exhausted from.soing the most miles yet and with no were to safely stay to ride it out. A complete lack of compassion and empathy. His response was that I checked the box to the waiver saying no campsite. Yeah buddy, like I had time to read the fine print for a campsite when a hurricane was coming. So I had tear everything down in pitch dark, get it all back down to the boat launch and paddle out into the abyss of night. Unreal. Also if you like police constantly patrolling and nanning you, I would look else where from this spot. I think in all the time I spent in this park maybe 3 hours total spread out in 2 different days, I saw cops patrolling 4 times.

Great place to camp on the river and hiking to the falls; boat ramp in city park. However the Wi-Fi has been hit or miss. No grills but has burn rings. However, there are a few places to eat nearby like Doc’s BBQ and Jailhouse Pizza to name a couple.

Brandenburg, Kentucky Meade county Visited the downtown area with an unparalleled view of the scenic Ohio River and the Matthew Welsh Bridge. The 15-acre Riverfront Park offers a campground, playground, bandstands, amphitheaters, soccer field and much more. Covered pavilions Great boat watching on Ohio Wildlife viewing See the Sunset Counting the barges on the passing towboats helps make for a relaxing afternoon, and with the occasional weekend concert make this a venue with something for everyone. The park also offers river access to boaters, fishermen and kayakers and is equipped with two boat ramps, a dock and ample trailer parking. Campground does not accept tents ⛺️ 🌳🎣🛶🦆🦌🔥🐍🦉🐦‍⬛🦃🐟🚘🚙🚤⛵️🛥️🚣‍♂️🚐🧺🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️👀

The RV park here is WONDERFUL. Clean, level gravel pads. Strong, free WiFi. Lots of grass for my dogs. Beautiful river views. Quiet. Close to the trail head. Felt safe the whole time. Would love to come back again.
