Riverest About
Are you a Floridian seeking a comfortable, affordable, and charming place to call home in the heart of the Sunshine State? Look no further than Riverest, a distinctive mobile home park nestled in the picturesque city of Tavares. More than just a collection of homes, Riverest offers a unique blend of vintage "Old Florida" charm, a peaceful atmosphere, and a highly desirable location right by the Dora Canal. For those who appreciate a community with character and a slower pace of life, Riverest presents an appealing alternative to modern, often bustling, developments.
Riverest is often described by its residents as a place where the shade of mature trees and the sight of hanging moss evoke a timeless sense of Florida living. It's a community that celebrates simplicity and connection, a stark contrast to the "glitzy" or overly programmed environments found elsewhere. If you're a local in Florida, particularly in Lake County, and you're looking for an affordable living solution that feels genuine and provides easy access to local amenities without the constant battle of traffic, Riverest deserves your attention. This article will explore what makes Riverest a suitable and appealing choice for Floridians, highlighting its unique charm, location benefits, available services, and community features.
The appeal of mobile home living has long been understood by many Floridians. It often provides a more accessible path to homeownership or an affordable seasonal retreat compared to traditional housing. What sets Riverest apart is its strong sense of identity. It caters to those who value a tranquil setting and a community where the management genuinely "stays on top of things," as noted by residents. This hands-on approach to maintenance and a friendly demeanor from staff contribute significantly to the positive living experience within the park, ensuring that residents feel cared for and their environment is well-maintained.
While some modern communities boast an extensive list of high-end amenities, Riverest focuses on the quality of its core offerings and the intangible benefits of its atmosphere. The community appears to prioritize the fundamentals of comfortable living: cleanliness, responsive management, and a serene environment. This dedication to the essentials, coupled with its distinctive "Elvis Era" aesthetic, makes Riverest a hidden gem for those seeking a genuine Florida lifestyle without unnecessary frills. It's a place where the natural beauty of the surroundings and the community's quiet charm take center stage.
Riverest is ideally located at 49 Crescent Dr, Tavares, FL 32778, USA. This address places it directly by the scenic Dora Canal, a significant waterway in Lake County that connects Lake Dora to Lake Eustis, part of Florida's renowned Chain of Lakes. This waterfront proximity is a major draw for residents who enjoy boating, fishing, or simply the serene views of the canal.
One of the most praised aspects of Riverest's location is its excellent accessibility to downtown Tavares. Residents can enjoy the charm of "America's Seaplane City" without having to "battle traffic." This means easy access to Tavares's unique attractions, including the Tavares Seaplane Base and Marina, lakeside dining options, and community events that frequently take place in the downtown area. The ability to reach these local hotspots quickly and conveniently greatly enhances the quality of life for residents.
Beyond Tavares, the park's central Lake County location provides convenient access to neighboring cities like Eustis and the picturesque Mount Dora, famous for its arts and crafts festivals, quaint shops, and historic downtown. These areas offer a broader range of shopping, dining, and cultural experiences, all within a short, comfortable drive.
While the streets within the park might be narrow, as one review cautiously notes ("Don't bring your Allegro Bus"), this characteristic contributes to the park's intimate, old-Florida feel and helps maintain its peaceful atmosphere by deterring heavy through-traffic. Despite this, general accessibility to major roads in the region is good, connecting residents to the wider Central Florida area. For those who prioritize a peaceful setting with close proximity to charming local attractions and waterways, Riverest's location is undeniably one of its strongest assets, allowing residents to embrace the best of Lake County living without the typical urban hustle.

No glitzy amenities or events but the big draw for me is the Old Florida vibe of the park with it's shady trees, hanging moss and vintage Elvis Era mobile homes. It's close to downtown Tavares without having to battle traffic, is priced reasonably and Linda, the park manager and Moe, the maintenance man stay on top of things. It's a great place to be in Lake County..
Cute litte park right by Dora Canal. Careful, though. Streets are narrow. Don't bring your Allegro Bus.
It is embarrassing to have company here to visit. We nicknamed this “the Swamp” The park has gone downhill in the last 3 years and does not reflect the high rent increases.
Linda is an amazing manager for Riverest Waterfront Resort. The grounds are impeccable at all times and she is very friendly and helpful. Neighbors are neighborly and even the fish scaling station is impressively clean. I can't say enough great things about how amazing management of this community is handled. Thanks Linda for your hard work and dedication to the community. It is definitely noticeable and appreciated.
I moved here 11 months ago and have never been happier! The manager is wonderful and appreciates how she makes people stick to the rules! And the park is always nice and clean! We also have a beautiful new sea wall and fire pit!
