I reserved our tent site for Labor Day weekend several months ago, but due to my father's untimely passing just days before our trip, I was forced to cancel. I contacted the campground to request a deposit refund and express my situation, but they failed to provide a sympathetic response or refund. Moreover, they discussed my situation with my friends who still camped there that weekend and informed them that I wouldn't receive a refund. I'm extremely disheartened by their lack of empathy and will no longer be patronizing this campground, resulting in a significant loss of business since our group typically occupies five tent spots and utilizes additional services.

We do not recommend this campground. Don't get fooled like we did. Not the top 5 of Iowa campgrounds, that's a lie. This is unwelcoming and low quality. No hot water in the single shower for women. Standing water on the ground all in the women's restroom. The dump station and water facilities are poor, unpaved and homemade looking. No signage or only handmade/hand written signs. Low quality or no amenities compared to a campground less than 30 miles away that charges less and is on the River! We came here for work as a vendor for a festival put on by the city of Cascade, and we travel quite a bit for work. Not full time RV living but 70% RV living so we've stayed at camps around and all across the country. We have met all kinds of people and stayed in all types of camps so we have a wide base of experience to draw on for this review. We were made to feel very unwelcome at check in and the woman was RUDE! She did not want to honor the ten dollars early check in on the website, she wanted to charge a full day. She said I'm charging you a full day and that's just how it is! She was so rude my wife wanted to cancel the reservation and cancel our participation in the city sponsored event. Sometimes campgrounds are less about the amenities and more about the people or the experience. Well there are no amenities here, the people are rude, and the experience was bad. I want to tell you Miller Riverview Park in Dubuque blew this place out of the water! Way better experience. We do not recommend this campground. We don't usually leave bad reviews but this campground warrants it. Don't be fooled by the website, you won't enjoy your visit here .

I made reservations for two days for camping. I arrived at 8pm and nobody was at the office. So, I called the number on the door as instructed. There was no answer and I left a message. Lady called me back 20 to 30 min I get a call. She says it already too late for wood delivery. So, after waiting for an hour I left. Sucky concrete picnic tables. And hardly any campsite designation.

We've been camping here for years and loved this place. We always made a point to have our first and last camping trip here every season with our travel trailer. It was quit and relaxing and the staff is super friendly and the firewood is very reasonably priced. This year the seasonal campers took over. They were loud way into the night. Had very loud sound systems hooked up to their golf carts with spotlights on them blinding us while we were trying to relax by a camp fire. Lots of swearing. I couldn't count to 20 seconds without a golf cart zooming by our campsite and I tried for over half an hour. I understand campgrounds get popular and it's sad but we won't be coming back to this one.

We had the pleasure of staying at Riverview Ridge over the summer. My wife is a travel medical professional, and we had originally booked our stay at a "RV water resort." We arrived to find that resort was WAY under construction. Mud, gravel and backhoes everywhere. My wife called Riverview Ridge in near desperation, and to our great fortune, they had an open site. They also worked with us to open up the site that we could stay on for the duration of our 13 week stay. We were SO glad it didn't work out with "that other place." Two playgrounds, river tubing, event pavilion and clubhouse, sand volleyball court, ATV/hike/bike trails, and plenty of trees to catch some shade and relax. The short-term and long-term guests we had the pleasure of meeting, were all very friendly. Plenty of kids, so our girls always had a blast. The campground events were always enjoyable, so keep an eye on the board by the office! I've read a few of the negative reviews about golf cart/UTV traffic and loud/raucous parties, and I know first hand that management has taken steps to quell such issues.
