Promotions or Special Offers

Sawmill Lake Campsite within the Crockford Pigeon Mountain WMA is unique in that it offers a primitive camping experience that is typically free of charge. This in itself is a significant "promotion" for Georgians seeking an affordable and authentic outdoor adventure. However, it's important to understand the access requirements.

To legally access and camp within the Crockford Pigeon Mountain WMA (and most WMAs in Georgia), individuals aged 16 and older must possess a valid Georgia license that allows hunting or fishing, or a Georgia Outdoor Recreation Pass (GORP), also known as a Lands Pass. Residents can purchase a one-day Hunting/Fishing combo online for around $5, which is often the cheapest option even if you're not planning to hunt or fish but simply want to access WMA property for recreation. An annual Lands Pass for residents is typically around $30, which offers year-round access and becomes a cost-effective choice for frequent visitors.

Therefore, while there are no traditional "discounts" in the commercial sense, the main offer is the opportunity for free primitive camping once the necessary WMA access pass or license is obtained. This low-cost entry makes it incredibly appealing for local Georgians looking for a budget-friendly way to enjoy extensive outdoor activities like hiking, caving, and bouldering in a vast, protected area. Always check the official Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Go Outdoors Georgia website or contact them directly for the most current information on license and pass requirements, as regulations can change.

And that’s a wrap! Incredible campsite for keeping the stoke high. Don’t even bother packing in food and supplies, Rosey’s got you. Rain can make things dicey, so you’d better find a mop. DO NOT forget your orifice

There are no playgrounds or restrooms, just mostly unadulterated nature. But there is no non ambient light at night and the stars are amazing.
