I'm absolutely glad we found Seneca Shadows campground on our trip to West Virginia. We camped in lot 7, which is a first come, first serve site. This site is close to the bathhouse, clean, and spacious. We camped here in mid-June, and the songbirds in the morning were unbelievable. What a great way to wake! There are several loops to choose from in the campground. Some sites are resevable. The bathhouse was very clean and the staff was super friendly. Highly recommend this campground if in the area. We would definitely stay again!!
Apr 03, 2025 · B HWent car camping with my dog Oct 21-23. The trees were beautiful, the stars were bright, and the hike at Seneca was perfect. It was Monday-Wednesday so the sites were pretty empty. As a solo female camper, I felt safe. Site 12 is without electric and water at the site, but there are water and outlets in the bathroom. The first two loops of camping spots are without water and electric (I believe) and the 20s+ loops had electric for sure. I have a car converter so no electric wasn’t an issue for me. Pro tip: Amazon solar yard lights were a hit. My site had tons of trees and shade which was perfect for the hot afternoon but I do regret not being able to see the stars as I drifted to sleep. The tent camping on the last loop is in a big field which maybe would’ve been cooler. I’m sure we could’ve moseyed down there for some gazing but it’s a long walk back. For the tent only spots, you have to walk a few steps from the parking lot to set up camp, but the view of Seneca is gorgeous there and the stars were insane, I’m sure. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and even had hot water! The shower is an old school push nozzle, but give it two pushes and you’ll get hot water. Site 12 is near the road but is huge and has two tent pads and picnic tables. I do regret not being closer to the bathroom, but the road traffic wasn’t bad and my dog could freely roam. I recommend getting wood from the last Kroger for cheaper bundles. If you run out, camp managers have some! $8 a bundle, 3 for $22. We will definitely be coming back in the future to explore a little more!
Nov 10, 2024 · Nicki RicciAmazing host. Very attentive and friendly. First come first serve sites available. Scenery is spectacular. A small western shop/motel complex nearby. Also there’s a Seneca rocks visitor centre.
Nov 14, 2024 · Trekker T.It’s definitely a “camp” ground and not a “glamp” ground. It has everything you need and is easy to access! Each rented area has its own dedicated camping space. It’s walking distance to the local store that has firewood and other supplies you need in a pinch. Showers aren’t glamorous, but they work.
Jun 02, 2025 · Kiefer JonesThis camp ground is really clean, well maintained and close to trails. We really enjoyed warm showers! It has beautiful views from some camping spots. There is only one problem. If you are a light sleeper then there is a heavy tractor-trailer traffic caring cement from near by manufactory. I could not sleep well at the camp ground #71 because it was so close to the road intersection behind the trees. We had to leave earlier after a couple of nights and went to Spruce Knob campground (totally peaceful). If you don't care about traffic noise then this is a good location. Nicely cut grass, friendly personnel, close to the convenience store and hiking trails.
