Diverse Campsite Options, Including Waterfront: The Point Camp Loop is particularly renowned for its highly desirable waterfront sites, which get booked months, even minutes, in advance during peak season. These sites, along with others, offer 50-amp electric hookups suitable for RVs, trailers, and tents. Sites are typically spacious and include a picnic table, fire grill, and lantern hanger. Many sites in Point Camp are terraced, meaning the living pad may be on a separate level from the parking pad, sometimes with stairs, offering unique layouts and views.
Clean & Heated Restroom Facilities: Point Camp Loop boasts dedicated restroom facilities with flush toilets and heated showers, ensuring a comfortable and clean experience for all campers. A universal access restroom, a locked unisex toilet and shower facility, is available upon request for individuals with special needs or those with small children, with keys issued at the Seven Points Entrance Station.
Potable Water Access & Dump Station: Drinking water access is available within the loop. While direct hose hookups to individual spigots in camping areas are generally not permitted, water tanks can be filled at the main Seven Points dump station or with portable jugs. A centralized dump station is available for RV and trailer waste disposal.
Playgrounds in Each Loop: To cater to families, each camping loop within Seven Points, including Point Camp, is equipped with a playground, providing safe and fun areas for children to play and explore.
Access to Full-Service Marina: Seven Points Marina, a comprehensive facility, is easily accessible from the campground. It offers a wide range of services including various boat rentals (from pontoons to kayaks), scenic lake cruises on the Proud Mary Showboat, gas, and boating supplies. A restaurant, Memories at the Dock, is also located at the marina for convenient dining.
Bike and Kayak Rentals: For those looking to explore Raystown Lake and its extensive trail system, bike and kayak rentals are readily available through the marina, providing convenient access to these popular outdoor activities.
Visitor Center and Interpretive Programs: The Raystown Lake Visitor Center, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Huntingdon County Visitors Bureau, is located nearby. It provides maps, information, a gift shop, and hosts educational and entertainment programs at the amphitheater, especially on summer weekends, enriching the visitor experience.
Prime Waterfront Sites: Point Camp Loop is one of only two campgrounds on Raystown Lake offering highly sought-after waterfront sites. These sites, situated within 10 to 30 feet of the shoreline, provide unparalleled lake views and direct access, making them incredibly popular and often booked well in advance.
Excellent Lake Access for Activities: The campground's proximity to Raystown Lake facilitates a wide array of water-based activities. Campers can easily enjoy boating, fishing (for species like muskies, bass, and trout), swimming at the beach, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Early mornings are particularly recommended for fishing before pleasure boaters arrive.
Well-Maintained Campsites & Facilities: Reviews consistently highlight the quality of the campsites, describing them as "beautiful" and "very well maintained." The sites, often with compacted gravel surfaces and timber edging, come with essential amenities like picnic tables and fire rings. The bathroom and shower facilities are also frequently praised for their cleanliness and maintenance.
World-Class Mountain Biking Trails: Seven Points Campground offers direct access to the renowned Allegrippis Trails, a 50-mile network of single-track mountain biking trails considered among the best flow trails on the East Coast. A mountain biking skills park is also available near the Visitor Center, drawing riders of all skill levels.
Disc Golf Course: For those looking for a unique outdoor activity, a 9-hole disc golf course is available at Seven Points. It's a fun and engaging way to explore the campground's natural surroundings.
Family-Friendly Amenities: With playgrounds in each loop, a swimming beach, and diverse activities suitable for all ages, Seven Points Campground provides an ideal environment for family vacations. The presence of park rangers who regularly drive around helps enforce rules and maintain a safe, pleasant atmosphere.
Seasonal Tranquility: While summer weekends can be bustling with "weekend warriors and pleasure boaters," as one review notes, the campground offers a more peaceful experience during weekdays and outside of the peak summer season, particularly when school is in session, allowing for a quieter enjoyment of the natural surroundings.
As Seven Points Campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and primarily operates through Recreation.gov for reservations, traditional commercial "promotions" or "special offers" are not typically advertised. The pricing structure is standardized, reflecting the excellent value provided by a federally managed recreation area.
Nightly rates for sites at Point Camp Loop generally range, with waterfront sites often commanding a slightly higher price due to their premium location and high demand. While specific discounts are rare, the overall affordability for access to such a comprehensive range of amenities and a vast natural playground represents significant value for campers. Given the immense popularity of the waterfront sites, especially from spring through fall, it is highly recommended that Pennsylvanians interested in visiting book their sites as far in advance as possible – often up to six months out – directly through the Recreation.gov website. Checking the website regularly for real-time availability and any updates on policies is key to securing your desired camping experience at Point Camp Loop.

Customer Reviews
Our 2nd time here. Just as beautiful as the 1st. Very well maintained campsites. Played 4 rounds of disc golf on the 9 hole course. My 1st time and it was so much fun. Biked all the trails multiple times. Booked a site for 4/25 for our 3rd trip here.
This campground is one of 2 campgrounds on Lake Raystown that has waterfront sites. Those sites get booked months in advance usually within a few days. During the summer months those sites get booked within minutes of becoming available. The summer weekends this place is jammed pack with the weekend warriors and pleasure boaters. If you want to fish be out early and get off the water by 10am. When school is on session it is not bad especially during the weekdays. Picture is a typical Sunday in October.
This is a beautiful park! The trails could be marked a bit better - it could just be my internal compass. With the help of an angel, I found my way back to camp.
Great camp ground. Clean & close bathrooms. Awesome firework show too!
Beautiful campground. Great place to relax. Spot #12 and #57 is really nice.
