One of the most significant advantages of Shady Maple Campground's location is its close proximity to Raystown Lake. According to customer feedback, the campground is "only a few miles to Raystown," making it an excellent base for visitors eager to enjoy all that this expansive and popular lake has to offer. Raystown Lake is a hub for recreational activities, including boating, fishing, swimming, and various water sports, drawing in countless visitors each year.

Promotions or Special Offers

Given the nature of Shady Maple Campground, which heavily caters to seasonal and long-term campers, its primary "promotions" or "special offers" revolve around the availability and appeal of these extended stay options. Unlike campgrounds that might offer weekly discounts or themed weekend packages, Shady Maple's value proposition is tied to the stability and cost-effectiveness of having a consistent spot for your camper throughout the season.

The most significant "offer" is the opportunity to have a "seasonal site" where you can "have your camper here" for an extended period. This provides a significant advantage for Pennsylvanians who regularly visit the Raystown Lake area or simply desire a consistent outdoor retreat without the repeated effort of setting up and taking down their RV. The long-term presence of families at the campground, some for "just shy of 50 years," underscores the implicit value in these seasonal arrangements, suggesting favorable long-term rates or established agreements that foster loyalty.

While there isn't specific public information on discounted rates for military personnel, seniors, or early bird specials, the very structure of the campground as a seasonal destination implies a different kind of value. Campers essentially secure a semi-permanent "home away from home" for an entire season, often at a rate that is more economical than booking daily or weekly stays over multiple visits. This commitment allows for the cultivation of strong neighborly bonds and a relaxed, familiar environment. For specific details on seasonal site fees or any other potential offers, interested individuals should directly contact Shady Maple Campground, as rates and availability for seasonal spots are typically managed through direct inquiry rather than public promotions.

I have my camper here and we love it so far! The campground is mostly shaded and all our neighbors are very friendly. There is no pool or rec room but if you just want peace and quiet this is a great place and only a few miles to raystown.😁🏞

My family had a camp at Shady Maple for just shy of 50 years. You will find the fellow campers friendly. The numerous trees provide welcome relief from the mid-day sun. Many great memories were made there, but time changes things. After the tragic passing of their father the boys now manage the camp, and you will find them significantly less than welcoming. This toxic environment caused many of my family members to leave and buy their own camps at other sites or stop going to the lake altogether. A few of us stuck it out till the end. If you are looking for a site to park your camper at Shady Maple here are some things to consider. If you have young children or grandchildren, there is a tiny playground that is not well kept and some equipment is not safe. There are no paved roads, WIFI, cable TV service, pool, game room or general store. For the boaters there is no under roof boat storage area. If you are a tent camper the bath house and laundry are outdated and are not clean and well kept. Compared to other sites, Shady Maple is a place for your camper but lacks a lot of amenities that other sites provide. Happy camping wherever you land.
