Customer Reviews
Beautiful campground, nicely laid out, great swimming area on the lake. We had a storm during g the night, but the amazing campground hosts -Dutch and Cathy- came around to check on everyone during the night and in the morning! We wanted to move campsites to a more sheltered area and Dutch and Cathy got a new site ready for us and even bought us a pot of coffee! Dutch and Cathy were always busy around camp working and so friendly and helpful. They made our stay awesome!
Our favorite summer spot! Swimming/ splashing/ sand play/ fields to run around/ camping / trails ! The best!
I have visited Sherando Lake frequently as a teen our youth group camped there for a week every summer. In early adulthood I took many pictures of the beautiful fall leaves. I occasionally still go there for family photo sessions. I rate it a 5 because of the best. The only complaints I have is they closed the little store there and on several occasions the ladies bathroom did not smell clean and there was trash in the stalls.
Important - there is NO cell service! One side of the lake is for fishing, the other has lots of picnic tables, a bath house and a sandy beach area. Perfect for family picnics. I personally love the off season to enjoy the views in peace and quiet. It is absolutely beautiful. Perfect backdrop for photography-
June2024, we camped for the weekend & it was not only gorgeous, very well maintained, staff was amazing & friendly but also a safe place. The overall feel was that everyone chose this wonderful place to seek a calmness away from the chaos, stress or schedules of there daily lives. A recharge, a reset, to breath in nature & not hear planes, trains, automobiles, phones, alarms or sirens, no street light to block the stars. Thank you Sherando for being this place for us, we will see you again soon ❤️
