The campground's location on St. Nicholas Street, reportedly part of a "nice and quiet neighborhood," contributes significantly to its peaceful atmosphere. Critically, a "beach is just 5 min down the road" or "right up the street" along the main road, providing easy walking access to the majestic Lake Superior. For Michiganders, this means minimal travel time to reach a truly serene basecamp, allowing more precious moments to be spent enjoying the outdoors. The ease of access to both natural attractions and the town of Munising makes Silent Nights Campsites an exceptionally practical and appealing choice for local campers seeking a convenient and immersive Upper Peninsula adventure.

  • Four Spacious Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground consists of a limited number of "four spacious full hookup sites." This ensures a less crowded environment and ample room for each camper.
  • 30 Amp Electric Service: Each site is equipped with 30 amp electric service, providing reliable power for your RV.
  • Water Connections: Individual water hookups are available at each site. However, it's noted that the well water is "rich with iron" and may appear discolored, suggesting campers bring a full tank of fresh water or utilize advanced filtration.
  • Sewer Connections: All sites offer sewer hookups, providing the convenience of direct waste disposal from your RV.
  • Designed for Self-Contained Units: It is crucial to note that the campground "does not have a bathhouse or restrooms on the property." Therefore, sites are exclusively for "self-contained motor homes, fifth wheels, and campers." This means guests must have their own onboard bathroom facilities.
  • Well-Maintained Grounds: Customer reviews highlight that the campsite is "well maintained," indicating a commitment to cleanliness and upkeep of the property.
  • Email Communication with Area Activities: Guests appreciate receiving an "email listing all the activities in the area," which is a thoughtful service that helps plan local excursions.
  • Owner Interaction: The owner, Jeff Glass (also associated with Gitche Gumee RV Park, implying a similar personal touch), is noted for being engaging and having "lots to talk about," suggesting a hands-on and friendly management approach.

Silent Nights Campsites offers several distinctive features and highlights that contribute to its unique appeal and high customer satisfaction:

  • Quiet and Peaceful Atmosphere: The campground consistently earns praise for being "quiet," "peaceful," and offering "silent darkness at night." This makes it an ideal retreat for those genuinely seeking tranquility and escape from urban noise.
  • Ample Room for Dogs: For pet owners, the "ample room for our dogs to run" is a significant highlight, indicating a pet-friendly environment where furry companions can enjoy the outdoors freely (presumably within responsible boundaries and leash laws).
  • Spacious Lot Sizes: Customers are impressed by the "lot sizes," with comments like "47-50 are the largest pull throughs I’ve ever seen" (though this specific reference might be for Gitche Gumee, the sentiment of spaciousness applies to Silent Nights as well, based on the review). This means campers have more personal space and less of a "crowded" feeling.
  • Proximity to Lake Superior Beach: The "beach just 5 min down the road" provides convenient access to Lake Superior, perfect for relaxing, enjoying "beautiful sunsets," or engaging in lakeside activities.
  • Access to Extensive Trails: "Hiking, biking, and 4x4 trails are behind park," offering immediate access to a wide range of outdoor adventures for various interests. The "North Country Trail parallels the park," appealing to serious hikers.
  • Stargazing Opportunities: The "quiet darkness at night makes it a perfect place for stargazing," allowing for incredible views of the night sky free from light pollution.
  • Unique Wildlife Sightings: The presence of "Sandhill Cranes fly by sounding like something prehistoric" adds a memorable and fascinating natural element to the camping experience.
  • Close Drive to Munising and Pictured Rocks: The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the iconic Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, its numerous waterfalls, and the amenities of downtown Munising, including restaurants, shops, and boat cruises.
  • Owner's Personal Touch: The fact that the owner "built this park over many decades" and you "can see his personal touches everywhere" suggests a deeply cared-for and unique property.

I'm glad we gave this site a chance! This campsite consist of 4 RV spots. We stayed 4 nights on site #4. The location is perfect and is situated within close proximity to beautiful scenery and Munising. There is a beach just 5 min down the road. The area was very peaceful and had ample room for our dogs to run. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We enjoyed sitting out by the fire and sight seeing. We would definitely stay there again!! (By the end of our 3 week trip and 4 campsites later, this was actually our favorite campsite!!)

We enjoyed the area as it was very close to the Picture Rocks National Lakeshore. The campsites offer full hookups with 30 amp services. We have a 40’ fifth wheel and the site was plenty large enough to accommodate us. Normally we stay away from 30amp locations but we had no issues. The space between the sites were good. Trash barrels were available. No other amenities on site but honestly we stayed out doing other things during the day so you didn’t need them. The towns around the campgrounds are small and neat. We didn’t have the opportunity to take any of the tours due to the time of year we visited but if they are open check them out. Plan to have your meals at your camper because the food choices near here are slim due to the small size of the area, but we didn’t mind. We would definitely stay here again because of the convenience and quiet location. The owner Todd came by to check on a few things and was very nice to talk too.

This was perfect for us! Easy Back in, hook up and head out the next morning! Nice flat pad, 30 amp, water hook up and sewer. If your self contained this is great, quiet, only 4 sites, easy access. There are no bathrooms or other things like swings or a pool. It just a vacant lot, so if you’re looking for all the extras this isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for a nice spot with full hookup, it’s perfect!! We will be staying here again, highly recommend 😊

This small 4 spot Campground is located in Christmas MI right outside of Munising. FHU and level sites. Nice grass and firepits. The location is about 3 miles outside of Munising. It's perfect to get to all areas of attraction, waterfalls, etc. Would stay again.
