Location and Accessibility

Sportsman Resort South is conveniently located at 60 Keystone Park Ln, Tiptonville, TN 38079, USA. This address places it squarely within the Reelfoot Lake region, offering excellent accessibility for visitors from across Tennessee and surrounding states. Tiptonville serves as the primary gateway to Reelfoot Lake, meaning the resort is well-positioned for easy access to the lake's various boat ramps, fishing spots, and natural attractions.

For Tennesseans, reaching Tiptonville is a straightforward drive, typically via well-maintained state routes. The location on Keystone Park Lane suggests it's likely set slightly back from the main thoroughfares, potentially offering a more secluded feel while still being very close to essential services in Tiptonville, such as bait shops, local restaurants, and gas stations. This balance of being near necessary amenities and providing a base for outdoor pursuits is crucial for RVers. Its proximity to the lake makes it an ideal spot for those bringing their boats or looking for immediate access to fishing and hunting grounds, minimizing travel time once you arrive. The practical and convenient location is a significant asset for anyone planning an outdoor-centric trip to Reelfoot Lake.

Services Offered

Sportsman Resort South, as an RV park primarily catering to outdoor enthusiasts at Reelfoot Lake, likely offers fundamental services essential for a functional and convenient stay. While specific details can vary and should be confirmed directly with the resort, common services expected at such an establishment include:

  • RV Site Hookups: Typically, full hookups for RVs, including electrical connections (likely 30 and 50 amp), water, and sewer connections at each site. This is crucial for modern RV camping comfort.
  • Access to Reelfoot Lake: The primary service, facilitating easy access to the lake for fishing, boating, and hunting activities. This might include proximity to boat ramps or even on-site docking if available.
  • Flexible Stay Options: Offering nightly, weekly, and potentially monthly or seasonal rates to accommodate various lengths of stay, from short fishing trips to extended hunting seasons.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Most RV parks welcome pets, often with guidelines for responsible pet ownership (leash laws, waste cleanup).
  • Trash Disposal: Designated areas for waste disposal to maintain cleanliness.
  • Basic Amenities: While not a luxury resort, expect basic amenities such as flat or relatively level sites for easy RV parking.

Given the specific nature of this review (mentioning "room" and "smell"), it's important to note that the primary focus here is on the RV park component. Any attached motel or cabin accommodations would have their own set of services and standards, which may differ from the RV sites.

Features / Highlights

Sportsman Resort South, as an RV park in the Reelfoot Lake area, likely emphasizes features that cater directly to the outdoor enthusiast, despite limited specific positive public feedback on its internal amenities. Based on its location and purpose, key features and highlights that would typically attract visitors include:

  • Prime Location for Reelfoot Lake Activities: This is arguably the most significant highlight. Being situated directly in the Reelfoot Lake area means unparalleled access for fishing, duck hunting, and other water-based activities. It's a strategic base for those whose main interest is enjoying the lake.
  • Targeted for Anglers and Hunters: The name "Sportsman Resort" strongly suggests a focus on accommodating individuals engaged in fishing and hunting. This means the park is likely designed with their needs in mind, such as easy access to boat launches, cleaning stations (if available), and proximity to popular hunting grounds.
  • RV-Focused Accommodations: The core offering is RV sites, providing a convenient and self-contained lodging option for those traveling in their own rigs. This allows visitors to bring their gear and set up a comfortable temporary home.
  • Proximity to Tiptonville Amenities: While the resort itself may focus on outdoor access, its location in Tiptonville ensures relatively easy access to local bait shops, gas stations, grocery stores, and local dining options.
  • Functional and Practical Stay: For visitors who prioritize spending their time outdoors rather than in elaborate accommodations, the RV park provides a no-frills, practical place to return to each day.

It is important to acknowledge the negative review provided, which refers to an "owner (Candy) is very hateful to everyone" and "black mold in our room" at the "North location" with an "unbearable smell," and a dismissive response to the complaint. This feedback suggests potential concerns regarding customer service and the condition of non-RV accommodations. Prospective visitors, particularly those considering any non-RV lodging, should conduct further due diligence or specifically inquire about the condition of rooms and guest services. For RV users, the focus would be more on the RV sites themselves and the ease of access to the lake.

Do not go to Sportsman's North or South location. The owner (Candy) is very hateful to everyone. We stayed at the North location and there was black mold in our room. And the smell was unbearable. We asked about it and she responded "did you think you were coming to the Hilton."
