-
Unique Geological Formation: Reelfoot Lake itself is Tennessee's only natural lake, created by a series of powerful earthquakes in 1811-1812. This history has left behind a fascinating "flooded forest" landscape with cypress trees emerging from the water, offering an unparalleled environment for exploration and photography.

Visitors often spot eagles and other diverse bird species, as highlighted by a camper: "Lots of Eagles around so keep an eye out for them." White pelicans also make the park home during their annual fall migration.
-
Kayaking and Boating: Despite the caution about swimming due to snakes (a natural part of any lake ecosystem, as noted in a review), kayaking is a highly recommended activity. "We did LOVE kayaking in the lake though," shared a visitor. The park's unique cypress tree landscape makes for an incredible paddling experience. Boat rentals are also available from nearby private facilities.
-
Proximity to Local Dining and Attractions: The campground is in walking distance to a "very fine dining restaurant called Blue Bank" and is close to other local eateries and grocery options, providing convenience for campers who prefer not to cook every meal.

-
Seasonal Popularity: It's important to note that the campground is "full during the spring and summer months so it’s best to reserve early," especially in April and May, which are peak fishing seasons for crappie and bluegill. Planning your trip in advance, particularly during these popular times, is key to securing a desired spot.
-
Reservations: Reservations can typically be made online through the Tennessee State Parks website or by phone, and it is highly recommended to do so, especially for lakefront or prime sites. There may be a non-refundable reservation fee per site.
-
Affordable Rates: State park campgrounds are generally known for offering more affordable rates compared to private campgrounds, making them a budget-friendly option for extended stays.

Customer Reviews
The campground is very nice, clean, level and we stayed at one of the lake front sites. The campground isn't far from town so you have the ability to eat at a restaurant or run to the grocery if you need to. The area is still recovering from a tornado but the campground wasn't hurt by it. Caution: The lake is well known for having snakes in it so i don't recommend swimming in it. We had one swim right up to the bank behind our site. We did LOVE kayaking in the lake though. Lots of Eagles around so keep an eye out for them. Cell service was 2LTE bars on Verizon, but we had good coverage most of the time. We would definitely stay here again.
The campground, very spacious and very clean with beautiful views at the lake in walking distance to a very fine dining restaurant called blue Bank on side you have a basketball court you have electricity hook up an area to dump septic tanks during the spring and summer months it is full so it’s best to reserve early. They also have on-site laundry for those that plan to stay for a while. You can rent a boat at Boz Landing or blue bank right next-door.
Beautiful place to stay. Light your mosquito candles or bring your net tent so by the time you set up camp you're ready to enjoy. People catching fish, families and pet owners all were very friendly. The restaurant next door is not dog friendly and they recommend a reservation. Thank you, we'd stay again, 1BadAmbo 🤙🏼
One of our favorite places is Reelfoot State Park. Nice camp grounds, beautiful scenery, tourist boat rides & lovely picnic areas. You are guaranteed beautiful sunsets.
Peaceful stop on a long road trip. Well maintained campsites, helpful staff, and quiet at night. Felt very safe as a lone woman camper. Lake is beautiful as well, but no swimming.
