For those who prioritize location and practicality over extensive amenities, Sticklers RV Park could be an ideal fit for your next Oklahoma RV adventure. Let's delve into what makes this park a suitable choice for locals.

Location and Accessibility

Sticklers RV Park boasts a highly convenient location at 8756 US-70, Mead, OK 73449, USA. This address places it directly on US-70, a major highway, ensuring exceptional accessibility for RVers traveling from various parts of Oklahoma and beyond. Being on a main route simplifies arrivals and departures, making it a stress-free journey even for larger recreational vehicles.

One of the most significant highlights of Sticklers RV Park's location, as noted by a satisfied customer, is its remarkable proximity to essential services and recreational areas. It's described as "just about four minutes to Walmart," which is an invaluable convenience for stocking up on groceries, supplies, and anything else you might need during your stay. Furthermore, it's "about 15 minutes from my favorite place at Lake Texoma," providing quick and easy access to one of Oklahoma's premier fishing, boating, and leisure destinations. The review also mentions proximity to "Lowe's and the pharmacies and every eatery and hotel and resort area around," reinforcing its central and practical location. This blend of quiet country living with immediate access to urban conveniences makes Sticklers RV Park exceptionally well-suited for Oklahomans.

Services Offered

Sticklers RV Park aims to provide the fundamental services necessary for a comfortable and practical RV stay. While some amenities may be more basic, the park focuses on delivering the essentials. Based on typical offerings for an RV park and the direct customer feedback, here's what you can generally expect in terms of services:

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: Like most functional RV parks, Sticklers RV Park is expected to offer full hookup sites, which typically include 30-amp and 50-amp electrical connections, water, and sewer hookups. These are essential for powering your RV, accessing fresh water, and disposing of wastewater conveniently.
  • Gravel Sites: Customer reviews indicate that the sites are "nothing but gravel." This provides a solid and level surface for parking your RV, especially beneficial in various weather conditions.
  • Laundry Room Access: The park provides a laundry room, offering the convenience of on-site washing and drying facilities. However, it's important to note the specific customer feedback regarding the condition of these machines: "The laundry room is bad. Washers never cleaned, dryers are a fire hazard cause the lint screens don't fit in the slots. Charging $1.50 for a dryer that doesn't dry." Prospective guests should be aware of this reported issue and consider alternative laundry options if this is a critical amenity for their stay.
  • Quiet Environment: While not a physical "service," the park is consistently described as a "nice quiet place," which is a significant aspect of the living experience, offering peace and tranquility for residents.

For precise and up-to-date information on all services, including any utility inclusions in the rental price and current conditions of facilities, it is always recommended to contact Sticklers RV Park directly.

Features and Highlights

Sticklers RV Park, while straightforward in its offerings, provides several key features and highlights that make it a practical and appealing choice for many RVers in Oklahoma. These aspects focus on convenience and a peaceful atmosphere:

  • Quiet Atmosphere: A recurring highlight is the park's "nice quiet place" ambiance. This is a significant draw for those looking to escape noise and enjoy a peaceful environment for relaxation or rest.
  • Exceptional Convenience to Amenities: This is arguably the strongest feature of Sticklers RV Park. Its location offers unparalleled access to:
    • Walmart: Just about "four minutes to Walmart," making grocery runs and supply restocking incredibly fast and easy.
    • Lake Texoma: Only "about 15 minutes from my favorite place at Lake Texoma," providing quick access to one of Oklahoma's premier recreational lakes for fishing, boating, and water sports.
    • Local Services: Proximity to "Lowe's and the pharmacies and every eatery and hotel and resort area around" in Mead and nearby Durant ensures that all daily needs and entertainment options are readily available.
  • Practical Gravel Sites: While lacking shade trees, the "nothing but gravel" sites offer a firm, level parking surface for RVs, which can be advantageous in various weather conditions.
  • No Shade Trees (Consideration): It's important to note the absence of "shade trees at all." While this might be a drawback for some, for others who prefer open skies for satellite dishes or don't mind relying on their RV's AC, it may not be an issue. Prospective guests should consider this for warmer months.
  • Affordable, No-Frills Option: The park appears to cater to those seeking a practical, budget-conscious RV stay without extensive resort-style amenities, focusing on essential hookups and a convenient location.

The state of the laundry room, as detailed in one review, is a significant point to consider. While the park provides a laundry room, guests should be prepared for potential issues with cleanliness and dryer functionality and may need to plan for off-site laundry if this amenity is crucial for their stay.

Promotions or Special Offers

Information regarding specific promotions or special offers for Sticklers RV Park is not explicitly provided in the available customer reviews. RV parks that focus on long-term stays or practical convenience often prioritize competitive base rates rather than frequently advertised short-term deals. However, it is always advisable to contact the park directly to inquire about their current pricing and any potential incentives. Common offerings you might ask about include:

  • Monthly or Extended Stay Rates: Given its appeal for longer stays ("My experience is I love it for several reasons"), it's highly probable that Sticklers RV Park offers discounted rates for monthly or longer-term rentals compared to nightly or weekly fees. This is a standard practice for parks catering to residents or those working in the area.
  • Utility Inclusions: Inquire about what is included in the base rent (e.g., water, sewer, trash) and if electricity is separately metered and billed. Understanding the total monthly cost is crucial for budgeting.
  • Application Process: If considering a long-term stay, inquire about any application fees, background checks, or credit checks that may be required, as is common for residential RV parks.

While the reviews do not mention specific discounts, the park's overall value often lies in its strategic location and quiet environment at what is likely a practical price point. For the most accurate and up-to-date information on rates, availability, and any long-term stay policies, contacting Sticklers RV Park directly via phone is the best approach.
