This article is crafted to provide a clear and factual overview of Stone RV Park, specifically for our fellow Oklahomans. We’ll delve into its highly accessible location, what you can expect in terms of essential services, and the unique aspects that make it a suitable choice for those looking for a practical and budget-friendly stop. Our aim is to give you all the information you need to decide if Stone RV Park aligns with your travel plans, particularly if you value convenience and affordability for your next Oklahoma RV adventure.
Stone RV Park is an RV park located in Kiowa, Oklahoma. It is characterized primarily as a "pull off rv park on the side of the highway," indicating its focus on convenience for travelers. The park is described as "Very convenient overnight for traveling," making it an ideal choice for those needing a quick stop during a journey.
Customer reviews highlight several key aspects of Stone RV Park. It offers "full hookups" for RVs, which are essential utilities. The stated price for full hookups is "$32," positioning it as an affordable option for travelers. While it previously had a laundry room, this facility is "now closed," which is an important update for potential visitors. The park appears to operate on a "completely self serve" basis, suggesting minimal on-site staff interaction. Observations by visitors indicate it is "Mostly long term from what I saw," implying a blend of transient and more permanent residents. A notable point from feedback is the lack of shade, with one reviewer mentioning "no shade from the hot sun." Additionally, there seems to be some confusion with phone numbers, as one listed number goes to "stone electrical" with voicemail directing to another number, which also goes to voicemail, and "no callback." This suggests that communication with the park management might be challenging. Overall, Stone RV Park is presented as a functional, no-frills, and affordable stop for RVs, particularly suited for overnight stays and those comfortable with a self-service model.
Stone RV Park is located at 435 N Garfield Ave, Kiowa, OK 74553, USA. This address places it directly in the town of Kiowa, a small community nestled in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma. Pittsburg County is part of the southeastern region of Oklahoma, characterized by its rural landscape and access to various state highways.
The most significant aspect of the park's location, as repeatedly emphasized in customer reviews, is its direct accessibility: it is "Just a pull off rv park on the side of the highway." This description highlights its extreme convenience for travelers. While the specific highway isn't named in the reviews, the address on N Garfield Ave suggests it's positioned on a relatively main thoroughfare within or immediately adjacent to the town. This ensures incredibly easy access for RVs, allowing for minimal deviation from a travel route for a quick stop.
This "pull off" nature means that drivers can quickly and efficiently enter and exit the park, making it "Very convenient overnight for traveling." For those passing through Oklahoma, particularly on longer journeys, the ability to find an accessible spot without navigating complex local streets is a major benefit. However, this direct highway proximity also implies a lack of significant seclusion or buffer from road noise, which might be a consideration for some, although it is not explicitly mentioned as a noise issue in the provided reviews. Its straightforward accessibility makes it a practical choice for transient RVers.
Stone RV Park primarily offers fundamental services necessary for accommodating recreational vehicles, focusing on utility and convenience rather than extensive amenities. Based on customer feedback, the core offerings include:
-
RV Sites with Full Hookups: The park provides designated spaces for RVs, and crucially, these come with "full hookups." This typically includes:
- Electricity: To power the RV's systems.
- Water: For fresh water supply.
- Sewer: For convenient waste disposal.
-
Overnight Stays: The park is explicitly noted as "Very convenient overnight for traveling," indicating it is well-suited for short-term, transient visitors needing a place to rest for a night.
-
Long-Term Stays: While convenient for overnight, the park also appears to cater to more extended stays, with one reviewer observing, "Mostly long term from what I saw." This suggests it can serve as a base for those working in the area or needing a temporary residence.
-
Self-Serve Operation: The park is described as "Completely self serve." This means guests should expect to manage their own check-in, hookups, and general needs without direct, on-site staff assistance.
It is crucial to note what services are not available or have changed:
-
Laundry Room (Now Closed): A previous amenity, the "laundryroom," is explicitly stated as "now closed." This is an important detail for travelers who rely on on-site laundry facilities.
-
No Mention of Bathrooms or Showers: The reviews do not mention the presence of public bathrooms or showers. In a self-serve park focused on basic hookups, these amenities are often absent, implying guests rely solely on their RV's facilities.
Stone RV Park, while a no-frills option, possesses several key features and highlights that make it a practical and appealing choice for a specific segment of RV travelers:
-
Exceptional Convenience for Travelers: The most significant highlight is its prime location as "Just a pull off rv park on the side of the highway." This direct accessibility makes it "Very convenient overnight for traveling," allowing for swift entry and exit without lengthy detours. It’s ideal for those prioritizing ease of access during transit.
-
Affordable Full Hookups: At a stated price of "$32" for full hookups, Stone RV Park offers a budget-friendly option for essential RV services (electricity, water, sewer). This affordability is a key highlight for cost-conscious travelers.
-
Full Hookups Available: The provision of "full hookups" ensures that RVs can access all necessary utilities for a comfortable stay, even without additional amenities.
-
Suitable for Both Overnight and Long-Term Stays: The park's flexibility in catering to both transient visitors ("overnight") and more settled guests ("Mostly long term") is a practical highlight, accommodating various travel itineraries and needs.
-
Self-Serve Simplicity: The "Completely self serve" model, while not for everyone, can be a highlight for independent RVers who prefer a straightforward, low-interaction experience. It often means less bureaucracy and a more direct approach to finding a spot.
It's also important to note features that might be considered drawbacks for some, but are part of its factual description:
-
No Shade: As noted by a customer, there is "no shade from the hot sun." This is a key environmental feature, particularly relevant during warmer months, meaning sites are exposed to direct sunlight.
-
No Laundry Room: The "laundryroom is now closed," meaning guests need to plan for off-site laundry or rely on their RV's capabilities.
-
No Public Bathrooms/Showers: This absence means guests must be self-contained in their RVs for hygiene needs.
Based on the provided customer reviews, there are no specific promotions or special offers explicitly mentioned for Stone RV Park. As a "completely self serve" park, its operational model may naturally lend itself to consistent, transparent pricing rather than complex promotional schemes.
However, it is common for RV parks, especially those catering to both overnight and long-term guests, to have tiered pricing structures. For instance, while the stated price for full hookups is "$32" for an overnight stay, it is highly probable that Stone RV Park offers reduced rates for longer commitments, such as weekly or monthly stays, given that it "caters to long term" residents.
Since the park operates on a self-serve basis and communication via phone numbers appears challenging ("no callback"), inquiring about potential long-term rates or any unadvertised offers might require a direct visit or persistent phone attempts. For the most accurate and current pricing, particularly for extended stays, visitors would need to rely on information posted at the park itself or eventually get through to management.
For inquiries, or to get more information about Stone RV Park, you can attempt to reach them through the following contact details:

It is important to note the customer feedback regarding communication. One review states that a listed phone number "goes to stone electrical, voice-mail says call Alice at another number. It goes to voice-mail and no callback." This suggests that reaching management directly via phone might be challenging or require persistence. Given that the park is described as "Completely self serve," prospective visitors should be prepared for a minimal-contact experience. If you require specific information or need to confirm details before arrival, it is advisable to be prepared for potential difficulty in reaching someone by phone.
For us Oklahomans who are familiar with the demands of RV travel and prioritize efficiency and affordability, Stone RV Park in Kiowa presents a clear and practical solution for a specific type of stopover. While it may not offer the extensive amenities of a full-service resort, its strengths align perfectly with the needs of many local RVers.
The most compelling reason for locals to consider Stone RV Park is its sheer convenience. As a "pull off rv park on the side of the highway," it offers unparalleled ease of access. For those on long journeys across Oklahoma, or simply needing a quick, no-fuss overnight stay, the ability to effortlessly enter and exit the park without navigating complex local streets is a significant advantage. This direct accessibility translates to saved time and reduced stress, especially for larger rigs.
Furthermore, the affordability of its "full hookups" at "$32" makes it a budget-friendly option for essential services. For Oklahomans looking to stretch their travel dollar without compromising on basic utility needs (electricity, water, sewer), Stone RV Park delivers on this front. It's a pragmatic choice for those who are self-contained in their RVs and don't require additional on-site facilities like restrooms or laundry, especially since the laundry room is noted as being closed.
The "completely self serve" nature, while a deviation from parks with active on-site management, can also be a highlight for independent RVers. It means a straightforward, potentially contactless check-in process, allowing you to settle in quickly and efficiently. For locals who are comfortable with this independent approach, it offers a streamlined experience.
In conclusion, Stone RV Park is ideal for Oklahomans who prioritize convenience, affordability, and essential full hookups for an overnight or potentially longer-term stay. If you're a self-sufficient RVer needing a quick, accessible, and economical stop on your journey through Pittsburg County, this park is definitely worth considering for its direct utility and straightforward approach.
Customer Reviews
Just a pull off rv park on the side of the highway. Very convenient overnight for traveling. Stayed once when it was raining and used their laundryroom. And again 2 yrs later, but the laundryroom is now closed. There was no shade from the hot sun, but our fault for traveling thru Texas in August. Price for full hookups is $32.
The phone number on website goes to stone electrical, voice-mail says call Alice at another number. It goes to voice-mail and no callback. Completely self serve . Laundry room is closed . Mostly long term from what I saw.
This is a decent, self serve, road (and railroad) side park. If you're looking for quiet park for several days with the kids, this wont be for you but if you need a stopping point along the way this is great. Right off the highway, well maintained, level, very easy to maneuver (even arriving late night), 30/50 amp at each site, water, dumpster, etc. Even a laundromat. Cons would be road and train noise (bring a fan to drown it out), lack of security,. For $25 it's a great deal!
Still waiting for them to fix their laundry room. Said it was vandalized, Ive been here for a month. No change. Be careful of price. They charge u 4% extra if u use a card.
I didn't stay here, but I was on my way back to the cold country and they allowed me to dump my grey tank and black tank on my way through. Very nice people.
