Customer Reviews
We stayed at Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge for a short visit and overall had a decent stay. The location is great—close to local attractions—and the campground has lots of nice shade, which we appreciated during the warmer parts of the day. The amenities were clean and well-kept, and there’s plenty to do, but there were a few things that kept this from being a 5-star experience. Our gravel site had quite a few weeds and some large mud puddles, which made it tough to keep our dog out of the mess. Charging for the dog bath was also a bit of a bummer, especially since some resorts offer that as a courtesy. Staff interactions were polite, though not particularly engaging. For the price, we expected a little more polish and attentiveness overall. One concern was the lack of a storm shelter—there was a tornado warning during our stay, and no clear place to go for safety. It’s a solid campground in a great area, but just be mindful of site selection and weather preparedness. With a few improvements, it could easily earn that extra star.
Always a great time to be had here, close to everything but still away from the hustle and bustle of a tourist area. The grounds and comfort stations are always clean and well maintained. Office staff is pleasant and make the check in process super easy! We also loved the outdoor movie time last night at the pavilion and was happy to see the accommodations staff made for special needs guests and also how helpful the staff hosting the movie was. there were multiple people available to ensure everything was smooth and enjoyable. Looking forward to the activities tonight!!!!
Some of the sites fire rings are very close. With our slides out the neighbors had a fire going and it made the side of our rig get hot. Fire is less than 10 feet away from our rig. So be careful about that so you don't have delamination of the RV. The rest of the place is very nice. Very family friendly and lots of fun activities for kids.
This was our first time at this campground. After viewing photos online and reading reviews we did see that this was rundown and older. The staff are great when you arrive. However, I think 2PM is late for checkin and they are very stern on that. However we did call ahead as we arrived at 10:05. I had also called the week prior to see how early we could check in and was told 11 so we kept ourselves busy until 11. The campground was pretty empty so again, the delayed checkin AFTER I PAID AN EXTRA $30 to checkin early seems excessive. Upon arriving to our site ( water front FHU) we were pleased with site 419. It is beautiful on the river and we love a large site. The bathhouses are my biggest reason for the low stars. Both of the doors did not shut in the stalls on the left side and one was out of toilet paper the whole time. I didn’t feel like there was a constant effort to maintain cleanliness and that’s very important to families who consider their return. I did get this trip on a Black Friday deal which is why I am not as upset because I didn’t pay full price. All and all, it’s a safe place to stay and the waterfront sites are great.
Stayed here a few months for work, rented one of the cottages as well when I had family in town. It's a great location, great staff, police patrol it, and everyone is friendly. The amenities are probably the best of any RV park in the area. Plenty of laundry areas, lazy river, 2 pools, and a hot tub. Plus a store and arcade room for the kids. Highly recommend it if you want a comfortable location for your RV or even a cabin or cottage for the weekend. They also offer first responder discounts which I appreciated when my family visited. These aren't available for long term sites, but that is normal.
