I was on my way for the 3rd year in a row and received a phone call that I had to pick a different site because they gave mine away. Normally not a big deal but we paid a little extra to pick a deluxe site . We stayed 1 night out of 11 luckily the event we were at had a spot left . They wanted to bring over all the things that go with a deluxe site and set it up in the grass that was all goose turds . They said they would stop by after we set up to see how they could make things right and they never did. And trying to call them on the phone is impossible.

I honestly feel bad leaving a "not so great" review. I really wanted to like this campground and it has great potential. Prior to booking I tried calling multiple times over multiple days before finally getting someone to answer the phone. The staff there is very friendly and is clearly trying their best. I booked two sites together and I did it over the phone and not online so I could be sure they were close together. Upon arrival we were given our site a couple rows away from the other site but we were ok with that. We drove all the way back to the site to find someone else already in it. I had to drive back to the camp store to try to sort it out and it took at least 30 minutes and 4 staff members to finally get me a site in the area near our other site but we had to downgrade our site to do it. The one staff member had to call some manager who was off-site to try to resolve the issue. After finally getting settled in the camp site was nice however a lot of the amenities had their own issues. Some of the playground equipment was definitely in need of some maintenance. I was also disappointed in the fact that the campground only had a few golf carts and they were all booked for the weekend. Would have been helpful since most of the amenities are all the way up by the main entrance. I really feel like the staff is doing the best job they can but maybe they just don't have all the tools they need to make this campground better. I will probably watch reviews for this campground in the future before I decide if I would stay again.

Stayed on the premium pull thru sites in October next to the soybean field and it was beautiful. Wide open sky for great satellite exposure. Site was great. Only issue was the bugs! Every time we opened the door a dozen flies swarmed in. Rescue farm animals in a petting pen, with a field for the horses and donkeys.

This is our first visit at this campground. The one thing that I really hate is that NO ONE follows the speed limit including the staff in golf carts and cars. The roads are very narrow and stone. The risk of hitting someone with a car is very high due to others lack of respect for being in a campground full of kids. The staff is friendly but some of the amenities do not work or were not overly clean. The splash pad does not work and was still shown on their web page as an amenity. The one bath house I enter was very dark and not clean. You could not even see the urinals during the day. That’s how dark it was. The rail swing could use a good lube job. Half way down the first hill it sticks sending the swing way up then breaks loose only to make it half way around the loop. Amazed a kid has not been thrown from that.

This campground boasts a plethora of amenities geared towards kids and adults alike. It is peaceful, quiet, and affordable for all that is offered at the camp ground. Very laid back and quiet. We stayed in the Chips Chateau deluxe cabin, and it was the perfect fit for our family. We were grateful to find a clean room with towels and toiletries. Safe, secure, and best of all--- surprisingly none of the bugs you would expect when camping. I don't even think I saw a mosquito. What set this KOA apart most of all, though, was it's amazing staff. From the booking process, to the multiple changes we had to make to our reservation due to a turbulent 22 hours on the road (accidents, being separated from our second car, all sorts of crazy stuff) -- the staff at this campground were so empathetic and helpful when it came to accommodating us. When I called to move our reservation, I was in tears. Ryn at the front office was so helpful and truly was a light in a very stressful time. Kaitlyn, who I am told is the manager, was also very helpful in our time if need and answered every question we had with a smile. Above all, this experience has convinced me to never stay at a hotel while traveling again. My family made some core memories here, and we hope to visit again when we are in the area. :)
