For many Michigan residents, RVing is more than just a hobby; it's a lifestyle that allows them to connect with our state's diverse landscapes, from the serene forests to the majestic Great Lakes. Tiki RV Park understands this desire for both adventure and comfort, providing a no-frills yet friendly environment for your RV. This article will delve into what makes Tiki RV Park a noteworthy option for your next Michigan RV trip, covering its location, the services it provides, and why it might be the ideal spot for your Upper Peninsula explorations.

Tiki RV Park is strategically located at 200 S Airport Rd, St Ignace, MI 49781, USA. This address places it just outside the bustling heart of St. Ignace, offering a blend of convenient access to local attractions and a quieter atmosphere away from the immediate downtown hustle. Its proximity to major roadways, including US-2 and I-75 (via the Mackinac Bridge), makes it easily accessible for RV travelers coming from both the Lower Peninsula and other parts of the Upper Peninsula.

St. Ignace itself is a gateway to countless Michigan adventures. From here, you're just a stone's throw from the ferry docks to Mackinac Island, a short drive to the iconic Mackinac Bridge, and within easy reach of numerous natural wonders, historical sites, and charming small towns. The park's location on Airport Road suggests a setting that balances accessibility with a degree of peaceful seclusion, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. While the roads within the campground might be unpaved, contributing to a "semi-rustic" feel, this also means a less congested and perhaps more natural environment. The ease of getting to and from major attractions while having a quiet place to retreat makes Tiki RV Park's location a significant advantage for Michigan RV enthusiasts looking to experience the best of the U.P.

Tiki RV Park offers essential services to ensure a comfortable and functional stay for RVers. While it embraces a more semi-rustic ambiance, the focus is on providing the necessary amenities for a pleasant experience. Based on available information, the services typically found at such a park would include:

  • RV Sites with Hookups: Expect to find sites equipped with standard RV hookups, which usually include electrical and water connections. While specific amp services (30-amp, 50-amp) aren't detailed, most modern RV parks provide a range to accommodate different vehicles.
  • Sewer Connections: Many RV sites at a park of this nature would likely offer sewer hookups, allowing for direct waste disposal from your RV.
  • Restroom Facilities: While the park is described as semi-rustic, basic restroom facilities are a standard offering at most RV parks.
  • Friendly Staff: Customer reviews frequently highlight the friendly and efficient nature of the staff. This dedication to customer service, even in a fully booked situation where they recommended another business, speaks volumes about their commitment to helping travelers.
  • Quiet Environment: A consistent theme from reviews is the park's quiet atmosphere, which is a major draw for those seeking a peaceful retreat.
  • Pet-Friendly: While not explicitly stated, most RV parks are pet-friendly, allowing well-behaved pets on leashes. It's always best to confirm their specific pet policy.
  • Convenient Access: The park provides easy access to the numerous attractions in St. Ignace and the surrounding Upper Peninsula region, serving as a practical base camp.

Tiki RV Park, while not a luxury resort, offers several key features and highlights that make it an attractive option for RV travelers in Michigan, particularly those who appreciate a more relaxed and quiet setting.

  • Exceptional Customer Service: This is a standout feature. One reviewer specifically noted that even when the park was fully booked during a major car show event, the staff went above and beyond by recommending another business that could accommodate them. This level of helpfulness and networking is a testament to their "class act" approach and commitment to assisting visitors, even if it means directing them elsewhere. This kind of genuine care creates a positive impression and builds trust.
  • Very Quiet Atmosphere: A consistent highlight mentioned by visitors is the park's quiet environment. For RVers looking to escape the noise and bustle of city life, or even busier campgrounds, Tiki RV Park offers a serene setting for relaxation and peaceful nights. This is a significant draw for those prioritizing tranquility during their travels.
  • Semi-Rustic Charm: The description of "unsaved roads and not so level RV sites" contributes to a semi-rustic feel. While some might see this as a drawback, for others, it offers a more authentic camping experience that's less manicured and more connected to the natural surroundings. It suggests a less commercialized environment, appealing to those who prefer a simpler, down-to-earth camping trip.
  • Strategic Location for Upper Peninsula Exploration: Situated in St. Ignace, the park serves as an excellent base for exploring the diverse attractions of the eastern Upper Peninsula. This includes easy access to Mackinac Island ferries, the Mackinac Bridge, Cut River Bridge, various lighthouses, and the charming towns along Lake Huron. Its location allows for convenient day trips to many iconic Michigan landmarks.
  • Efficient Staff: Coupled with friendliness, the staff is described as efficient. This means that check-ins, inquiries, and any issues are likely handled promptly and effectively, contributing to a smooth and stress-free stay for campers.

As a local, family-owned, or smaller independent RV park, Tiki RV Park generally operates on a standard rate structure for its sites and does not typically offer broad "promotions" in the same way a large chain or resort might. Their value comes from their dedicated customer service, quiet atmosphere, and convenient location.

However, it's always worth inquiring directly with the park about potential special offers, especially if you plan an extended stay, are part of a larger group, or are visiting during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall). Some smaller parks may offer:

  • Weekly or Monthly Rates: Often, staying for a week or a month can result in a discounted nightly rate compared to booking individual nights.
  • Off-Season Discounts: Prices might be lower during the less busy times of the year, before the summer rush or after the fall colors peak.
  • Referral Programs: While less common, some smaller businesses appreciate word-of-mouth and might have a referral incentive.

The primary "special offer" at Tiki RV Park seems to be its commitment to excellent customer service, as highlighted by the review where they assisted a prospective customer even when booked. This level of helpfulness and integrity is a valuable asset that contributes to a positive customer experience, regardless of monetary discounts.

To inquire about current rates, availability, or any potential unadvertised specials, your best approach is to contact them directly using the information provided below.

With any business , customer service is very important, as a business owner, networking can be a key part of that. I recently called to try to get in during the towns big car show event and they were booked up. They were nice enough to recommend another business that was able to get me in with their last available spot. I really appreciate the fact that they were able to help me and look forward to coming to the show to sell my custom painted items. Class act people here to help me find something. Thank You

The yurt was very cool and in the most beautiful forest. Really appreciated the touches, including the fairy lights inside and out, the chairs and picnic table, and that they left us firewood. The location was good, close to the water, right over the bridge and easy to get to. My only complaint was that the shower and toilets were really far from our yurt and it seemed like a high price to pay not to have that basic amenity.

We loved our stay at Tiki RV Park and would definitely come back! My husband and I wanted to visit Mackinac Island, but staying in Mackinaw City was expensive. This campground is much more convenient to the Island and way cheaper. We were able to walk to the ferry and walk into town. The sites are a little small and there are a ton of trees, which is great for shade, but made it a little difficult for us setting up our Starlink. We even had someone move "our platform" as they were trying to pull in. Laundry was cheap, although the machines are a little dated. Front staff is really friendly. We had packages delivered with no problems.

We paid a lock fee for two adjoining sites. They gave one of our sites away. Instead of making that RV pack up and move, we adjusted our site. They did give us a free night and adjusted the rate difference. Our last day there, the said RV had a leaking tank and it smelled like sewage. We called out to them, then knocked on their door, no answer. Son walked up to office and reported it. This evening, a woman came onto our site and said “so I hear you’re racist”, and then started to talk to us very rudely. I asked her to leave our site. My 2yr old granddaughter was sitting there. We went to the office and called the after hours number, surprise, it was the woman who came to our campsite. She was irrational, refused to listen to us. Apparently the RV we did not make move, said that we were cursing and using the “N” word. That was complete lies. Instead of coming to talk to us, she barged in, bad mouthing us, refused to have an actual conversation (I still think she had the wrong site). This was a horrible experience. She showed zero professionalism, and came onto our site looking for a fight. Other than the issue with the leaking tank, we had no interaction with anyone else. We had been on the island all day and then taken a 2 hr nap with granddaughter so we were just trying to cook our dinner.
