Whether you're planning a weekend getaway to one of our beautiful state parks, attending a festival, or simply need a comfortable spot while visiting family and friends, an RV park like Twelve Palms offers a unique blend of practicality and access to local attractions. This article is crafted to give you a comprehensive overview of what Twelve Palms RV Park has to offer, from its location and services to its unique features, helping you decide if it's the right fit for your next RV excursion in Louisiana.

Location and Accessibility

Twelve Palms RV Park is strategically situated at 2323 Broad St, Lake Charles, LA 70601, USA. This address places it squarely within Lake Charles, a dynamic city known for its casinos, Creole and Cajun heritage, and proximity to various bayous and wildlife refuges. Its location on Broad Street means it's positioned on a main thoroughfare, offering relatively straightforward access for RVs of various sizes. Being in a developed urban area, the park benefits from proximity to essential services, including grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and other retail establishments, all within a short driving distance. This accessibility can be a significant advantage for RVers who value convenience and easy access to amenities during their stay.

While the central location offers convenience, it's worth noting that an urban setting can come with its own set of characteristics. Being on a busy downtown street, as described by some visitors, means the park is integrated into the city's hustle and bustle. This can be ideal for those who enjoy being close to urban attractions and don't mind the ambient sounds of city life. For those seeking a secluded, quiet retreat deep in nature, the urban environment of Twelve Palms RV Park might offer a different experience. However, for exploring Lake Charles and its immediate surroundings, its central location is undoubtedly a benefit, minimizing travel time to local points of interest.

Services Offered

Twelve Palms RV Park provides a range of services designed to accommodate the needs of RV travelers. While specific details on every service might vary, typical offerings at RV parks of this nature often include:

  • Restroom and Shower Facilities: Commonly available for guests, providing convenience for those who prefer not to use their RV's facilities or for smaller rigs without full amenities.
  • Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry rooms are a highly valued amenity for both short-term and long-term guests, allowing for convenient clothes washing.
  • Wi-Fi Access: Often provided, allowing guests to stay connected, work remotely, or stream entertainment.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Many RV parks welcome pets, often with designated areas for walking and waste disposal. It is advisable to confirm specific pet policies.
  • Trash Disposal: Conveniently located bins or dumpsters for guest use.
  • Security Measures: While specifics can vary, many parks employ measures like surveillance cameras or on-site management to enhance guest safety.

Features / Highlights

Twelve Palms RV Park, while integrated into an urban setting, offers features that aim to make your stay comfortable and practical.

  • Slab Sites: Some sites are noted to be on a slab, which can provide a stable and level surface for parking your RV, especially beneficial during Louisiana's varied weather conditions.
  • Central Lake Charles Location: As highlighted, its position on Broad Street offers immediate access to the city's amenities and attractions, including dining, entertainment, and shopping. This is a key advantage for those who want to be close to the action.
  • Accessibility to Local Attractions: From this park, guests can easily reach Lake Charles's popular casinos, the Lake Charles Boardwalk, local museums, and the beautiful Creole Nature Trail All-American Road, making it a convenient base for exploration.

Our stay in this place lasted just over ten months. For the last month we were not in the camper. When we returned to pick up our camper we realized that our belongings that we had stored in the storage room were not there, so we asked the manager to show us the videos from the surveillance system. She was not very interested in the subject, and she showed us very few details, we could not know what happened and everything that was there was lost. I don't recommend this place.

Small park on a very busy downtown street. Very noisy. Not worth the money we paid. Our rig is on a slab but we need to do over a curb to exit. There's a Club across street which was loud until 3:00 a.m. Street noisy. When I discussed it with the Owner next morning, he would not refund us and said we could have left if it was so bad. Who's going to pull up stakes at 10:00 pm in the dark, in an area you are unfamiliar with. Would never stay here again. Paid way too much for this. Learned our lesson. Would give this zero stars if I could.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! There is seriously nothing good about the place outrageously priced and its a dangerous area! The man who runs the place is extremely rude! Also it is in a horrible area. There is a club directly across the street which blares it's music on Friday's and Saturday's till 3 am that keeps you up all night. Also while staying here I was woke up to several gunshots across the street and after doing some more research I found out that a young man was shot and killed here in July after three men tried to rob his camper!!! Safe to say me and my family got out of here immediately even tho we were paid up for several more days the man refused to give us any money back! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Oof, looks NOTHING like the photos on Google. Couldn't find the entrance, so we pulled into the exit to check in. Driveway was filled with litter including NAILS!! Looked through the windows of the office, because it was closed and it looks like someone is living there?! Sleeping bag and clothes all over the floor. Noped out real quick.

OWNER IS A THIEF!! Husband was laid off so we decided to move to a RV park that cost less than the one we were in. We talked to the owner on the phone and he told us the price - went and looked and the receptionist said we could put a $100 deposit down and if something happened where we could not move in we would get our money refunded back to our card. I asked her if she was absolutely sure about that and she said yes! So husband THANKFULLY got a job but in North Dakota so I called to ask him to put the deposit back on our card he said they hold it as a voucher for future rentals for us! I said but what if we don’t come back he said then we keep it! I informed him of what his Receptionist had told us and he said well that’s not true! I said then you need to train them better so they DO NOT give FALSE information BECAUSE THE ONLY reason we put a deposit down was because we were assured we would have our money returned if we couldn’t stay there. Now I would understand if he was full or had to turn ppl away but his park is HALF EMPTY because it is across from a night club and it’s in a bad part of town and a man was shot and killed not long ago there and apparently there are ppl that come into the park and do drug deals and approach the residents to buy drugs ( all of this was recently revealed to me by a former resident there - that’s why they moved out)!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS DUMP AND IF YOU DO - BEWARE THE OWNER IS A COMPLETE THIEF!
