As residents of Mississippi, we understand the importance of a campground that offers both a peaceful escape and practical conveniences. The ability to wake up to a beautiful sunrise over the lake, or easily launch a boat for a day on the water, are experiences highly valued in our state. While some aspects, like the distance to shower houses, might require a bit of planning, the overall package of picturesque sites, essential hookups, and affordability makes Twiltley Branch Campground a noteworthy option. We'll delve into the specifics of its location and accessibility, the services and features it provides, and what truly makes it suitable for locals looking to immerse themselves in Mississippi's outdoor splendor.
Twiltley Branch Campground is nestled at 9200 Hamrick Rd N, Collinsville, MS 39325, USA. For Mississippians, this address places it in a serene, natural setting within Lauderdale County, just outside the larger hub of Meridian. Collinsville offers a rural charm, providing a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, while still maintaining reasonable access to necessary services.
The campground's most defining locational feature is its direct proximity to a lake. Reviews highlight "sites... on the lake" and "a beautiful view out the windows @ sunrise," indicating that many spots offer direct waterfront access or stunning views of the water. This is a significant draw for anyone who loves water-based activities like boating or fishing, or simply enjoys the tranquil ambiance that a lakefront setting provides. The presence of a "boat dock" further confirms its suitability for boaters, allowing easy launch and retrieval.
While situated in a more rural area, Twiltley Branch Campground is still accessible. Hamrick Rd N would connect to local routes that lead to major highways, likely US-19, US-45, or even the I-20/59 corridor which passes through nearby Meridian. This ensures that campers can navigate to the site relatively easily from various parts of Mississippi or surrounding states. For those needing supplies or medical services, the larger city of Meridian is within a manageable drive, offering a comprehensive range of retail, dining, and healthcare options. This balance of natural seclusion and reasonable accessibility makes it an attractive option for a true outdoor escape.

- Boat Dock: A designated "boat dock" is available, attracting boaters and providing direct lake access for launching and tying up vessels.
Twiltley Branch Campground stands out due to several key features and highlights that directly contribute to its appeal, especially for budget-conscious and nature-loving campers:

- Clean Restroom Facilities: Despite the distance from some sites, the "clean" restrooms with hot showers are a valued amenity.

- Essential Hookups: Water and electric hookups provide necessary comforts for modern camping.
Specific promotions or special offers for Twiltley Branch Campground are not detailed in the provided customer reviews. Given its exceptionally low nightly rate of "just $20/night" for sites with water and electricity, the pricing itself is a significant ongoing value proposition and could be considered its primary "special offer."
Campgrounds, especially those that are part of public land systems or offer such competitive rates, typically operate on a fixed price model rather than frequent promotions. However, it is always a good idea to inquire directly, as policies can change or there might be:
- Longer Stay Discounts: While the daily rate is very low, some campgrounds might offer even slight reductions for weekly or monthly bookings, though this is less common for budget-focused sites.
- Seasonal Rates: Although not mentioned, rates might vary slightly during peak seasons or holidays.
- First Responder/Military Discounts: Some parks offer small discounts for service members, which could be inquired about.
To confirm the current nightly rates, availability, and any potential (though likely minimal) offers, interested individuals should contact Twiltley Branch Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. Given the popularity indicated by its value, early booking is advisable, especially for lakefront sites.

Customer Reviews
Twiltley Branch Campground, Collinsville MS We spent one night here but we arrived early enough to walk the roads and camp loops by the lake. There didn’t seem to be any designated hiking trails. There is a boat dock and this state park attracts boaters. The restrooms with showers were located between the camping loops and were a bit of a walk although there is parking if one drives. They were clean. Our site had electricity and water for just $20/ night ! And we were on the lake and had a beautiful view out the windows @ sunrise.
Great spacious sites for travel trailers on the lake. Only 1 shower house with 2 showers and it is not convenient to sites. Pit toilet building is closer to sites. Water and electric hookup. Dump station available. You can’t beat the sites and views for only $20/night.
I was surprised to hear from the campground host on the morning of my arrival. 😲She called to tell me that my space was available. 🤳🏻That's never happened to me anywhere.🤩 This is a very large property with quite a distance between the two loops and the boat ramp and the tent section. Definitely a drive or a bike ride.🚲 I was in the lower number loop. Which is inundated with debris and pine needles.🫣 The higher number loop is more open and more appealing. It seems to have a higher concentration of oak trees 🎋rather than these nasty pine🌲 trees. There's absolutely no maintenance here. Nobody picks up trash.🗑️ I'm always picking up scattered bits from people.😣 Nobody cleans out the fire pits.🔥 That's usually the very least one would expect 🤷🏻♂️ Each of these sites has 30 🔌and 50a ⚡and 💦 water. Unique to this property are a couple of street lights.💡 Typically there's no night time lighting at COE Parks. 🫣 If you are lucky enough to get site 65 there are three of them right there with their own private pavilion and an area to beach ⛱️ your boats! It's quite nice for a group thing 🙌🏻 There are two beach areas. One within the tent area that has no facilities. And then a huge one with a giant parking lot in the Okatibbee Day Use area. That one does have restroom 🚻 facilities (2) and 2 more much needed to be updated playgrounds. 🫣 It's a tremendously large area. Parking for hundreds of cars. There's also a boat ramp. A pavilion. And several picnic areas.. It can be a bit confusing. It's called Twitley Branch Road, but Twiltley Branch Campground.🫢
Simply a fantastic campground to visit. Sites are well maintained and level. We wanted a relaxing visit and that's what we got. Would have stayed longer but had to move on.
Nice level spots on the lake. Well maintained other than a few pieces of litter. The lady host is extremely rude and doesn't need to ever work with anyone in any customer service manner ever again, but the guy who checked me in was very nice and helpful. Only real suggestion, other than removing the host lady immediately, would be to maybe add some hiking & mountain biking trails. This place has a LOT of potential.
