Customer Reviews
Great location. We stayed for a week in site #24 right on the creek. The hosts Barbara and Dennis were very kind and accommodating. The Nelson's family owned And have owned it for years. The trolley stops right at the front and it's nice to take downtown, so you don't have to pay for parking. The trolley is a free service. The bears often walk through camp. We had electric water and cable. There is a nice scenic route right out the backside of the camp right beside the office. It is a one way very nice to take. If I had to pick a con about this place, it's most definitely the Post Office making all its noise for deliveries at 2 o'clock to 7 o'clock in the morning. You can hear road noise, but in the evening it goes away and you can hear the creak. They are dog friendly camp. They have a nice pool, kiddie pool and Jacuzzi. Just wish the Jacuzzi was a little hotter. The camp is very well kept clean, nice and neat, easy to get In-N-Out of.
You can take a trolley into Gatlinburg! Owners are super nice! Place is really clean and well cared for. Pet area.
This was our base for exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park and a brief foray into Gatlinburg to enjoy some live music in the courtyard at the Ole Smokey Distillery - highly recommended! This RV park is very well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Clean paved roads and pads, sites reasonably spaced, and perhaps the closest RV park to Gatlinburg. There is a free trolley stop on the main road just outside the park but we were there in mid-November and the trolley service was not frequent. There is a free app available to (live) monitor current locations of the trolleys and estimate arrival times at each stop. A walk into town would be a bit far (just over 2 miles), so we ended up driving and parking at the far end of town in a lot that could accommodate our truck ($20 daily). Some of the cable channels didn't work during our stay, the owner reached out very quickly about the issue and clearly cares about the park and his guests. We paid a few dollars more per night for a creek-side premium site. While it was on the creek, these sites are also closest to the adjacent highway. The whole park is fairly close to the highway which is in a narrow valley - not sure if the road noise would be much different in any other site in the park. All the RV parks in the area seem to be adjacent to the highways, so I don't think there would be any better options for those sensitive to road noise. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Cleanest laundry and bathhouse we have ever seen! Here now and it has been amazing. Close to everything including the local campground bear!! Pool was perfect and hot tub was spotless! Owners were so friendly! We are in spot 35 in a Class C and have plenty of room for us and our jeep we are towing .
Just a really special place. First and foremost- location, location, location. It was the perfect base for all our smokies explorations. With a trolley stop right at the entrance, traveling to Gatlinburg (and beyond) was convenient and free. Saved us having to pay for parking in town as well. As for the campground, you could not ask for a more welcoming staff. Every interaction was pleasant and it's clear the owners and their employees care about their customers and have pride in their park. Everything was well maintained, including the restrooms and showers which were spotless. With lots of shade trees, paved roads and campsites, and a nice pool and hot tub, I would not hesitate to stay here again and I really don't know why anyone would look anywhere else.
