I camped here with a group of women and loved it! I felt safe and everything was so clean and well marked. I hiked throughout the campground and swam and it was so very lovely! Loved having access to the bathroom near my campsite and the main building! Love that it feels like you’re far away and really so close to anything you may need!

While you camp, you can enjoy the fantastic hiking trails that the owners created and take in the wonderful views of the La Prairie and Mississippi rivers. If you’re planning on spending your time in Grand Rapids, the campground is only a short 7 minute drive to the center of the city. Each site is well kept and has a fire ring to make a campfire, along with picnic tables. There is also a playground on site for the kids to enjoy. Will definitely be back again!
Jun 05, 2025 · Matt KnaseThis is a new campground with plenty of large sites located just 2 miles from the heart of Grand Rapids, MN. It is conveniently located just off HWY 2, but it is far enough away to not have much noise from the traffic. We heard a train horn while on a walk, but that was the only time we heard it. All of the sites have 20/30/50A electric available and are $40/ night. The campground hosts welcomed us when we pulled in, and shortly after we pulled into our site, they came by in their golf cart to make sure we were happy with it. The campsite pads are large with enough room for a picnic table and fire ring between them. There are hiking/walking trails near the rivers with a few benches to sit on while overlooking the rivers. As it is new, there were many open camp sites, so there was very little foot and vehicle traffic. The space between sites is fairly natural, so there are ferns, weeds, and natural terrain as well as some trees that provide ample shade. The shower/ bathroom building is very clean and well kept. It has a seating area with games and a table and chairs for playing games or visiting. The games can be brought to your campsite with the expectation you will return them. There are 2 vault toilets and 10 fresh water spigots available in the campground as well as a dump station located at the entry to the campground for easy access on your way in/out. For long term stays, they have someone that will come to your rv and pump out your tanks for a small fee. I'm not sure about replenishing your fresh water supply though. Over time, I think this campground will become a very desirable place to go for families and friends to "get away" for a weekend, or for others to use as their seasonal getaway.
Jun 15, 2024 · Greg AThis a relatively new, remodeled campground. Restrooms and shower building have been built or remodeled. Water is readily available at several spots in the camp area with new plumbing. Hosts were fantastic in responding to questions. Staff were friendly. They are working to make the area more natural and get rid of invasive species. Several trails are available and trails to Prairie River and Mississippi River are a short distance from the campground. I was able to hike to the confluence for a beautiful sight. Couldn't walk closer due to high water levels. My RV friends camping with me said the RV pads were level. I was in a tent and had my dog with me. Lots of places to readily walk/hike with him. My only suggestion for tent campers would be to check in with host about space to pitch a tent, as some of the sites are more geared toward RV's. I am planning on coming back later this summer!!
Jun 25, 2024 · Sally NThis is a newer campground but they have a good start. There is water but only in various spots. Can use a long hose and a two way or four way spigot to be nice. They do have electric at every spot. It's easy to get in and the spaces are generous. There is a shower facility on site with nice plants inside. They open early which is nice as we use this place while my husband works in Cohasset. There was no water at first but was turned on not too long after we arrived. We were early and the frost was still in the ground. The shower facilities were still available and we just brought it water for the first couple of days. We could have filled up before we parked but didn't think about it. There is a pumper truck that comes once a week for those that are staying longer like us. He costs 30 bucks a week. Better than tearing down, dumping and setting back up. This is our second year here and will return to this place each time there is work. There are trails to walk and places to go fishing. They are getting a start on getting a playground for children.
