Customer Reviews
New owner hasn't kept up the grounds as good as Jeff and Tammy did, previous owners. Drinking Water is consistently smelly(rotten egg smell) Verizon phones have virtually no signal in the campground, not the owners fault but just want future campers to know. Wifi doesn't work that well, some areas of the campground it doesn't work at all. Very limited TV channels off of your antenna. No cable options and depending on location satellite tv isn't an option either, line of site to satellite is blocked by trees. new lease contract is very one sided and there is a "no sue" clause that you have to sign to continue leasing there. The campground put up a volleyball net with half on one level and the other half of the net below a brick retaining wall, see picture. The campgrounds beach is small, and that's being polite. The beach and swim area is the "square" area in the photos. On the Facebook page a lot of the photos are from other areas around the lake and not in the campground, very misleading in my opinion. Like the docks and trails. The old owners put their blood ,sweat, and tears into this campground and did a phenomenal job. The old owner Jeff knew how and when to change the water filters and the drinking water was fine, not so much this year, 2022 with the new ownership. A copy of the 2023 season lease is attached. Zoom in towards the bottom and read the red lettering if you want to see the "no sue" clause. New owner either didn't do mosquito control or switched the process because bugs were the worst we've seen them.in 7 years. New owner also didn't properly pick up leaves last fall and that gave mice a place to live until they found people's campers, many campers said to me that they never had a mice problem before and they contributed it to the new owner not properly cleaning up the grounds before winter.
Absolutely loved it there! The wife and kids enjoyed the playground! Went out fishing! Loved the atmosphere! This campground has changed since years ago! For the better. Would highly recommend anyone that wants to have some outdoor fun and love the new ownership! We will be coming back next year!
I can’t leave a zero or I would. I don’t need a response to this review as I feel it will be repetitively empty and it makes the place look even worse. We loved the place for 6 years. The past year we gave the new owner some grace and a year to see if he has follow through. Not to our expectations so we are moving out. Too numerous reasons for our departure to explain here. The most non-friendly campground we have been to. None of the staff even wave or make the campers feel welcome as if being friendly would be too much work. “Fun Director” employee of the campground is an ironic name, as all fun events were either cancelled or previous years fun events left unscheduled. That was not a good partnership choice. We are unable to have decent internet all summer- which we don’t necessarily need, but since it was promised, then it becomes an expectation. As you scroll through the reviews, please notice all of the 5 star ones would have been associated with the previous owners. I would leave this same review on FB, but the reviews there are controlled to be only positive. Best of luck to our fellow campers that are staying.
New owner as of a year ago. New owner will lie to you and try to get every dime out of your pocket. Raised the seasonal rent $700 (now at $2700) for next season without any warning because he has a waiting list. Blocked all reviews on Facebook. Only reason for 1 star is because you can't leave 0. He is never around and will not talk to you even if you happen to catch him.
The owners are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome right away. I appreciate the Sunday morning church service held every week throughout the summer. They even have it open to anyone living in the surrounding area and serve coffee, donuts and cookies afterwards. Great time to meet new friends and enjoy a Sunday morning.
